Released in October 2018, the 9th flavor in the 28 BLACK series is Orange Ginger.

The strong impression of spicy ginger energy drinks from Japan has left me with a bit of a trauma when it comes to ginger-flavored drinks... (ヽ´ω`) But let's see what it tastes like, and try it right away.

Ginger Only for Aroma, with a Refreshing Orange Flavor

When I took a sip, the ginger only played a role in the aroma and didn't affect the taste at all, which was a relief.

It had a refreshing, sweet-tart flavor similar to Bayarese Orange, with a slightly lingering aftertaste of a clear, single orange flavor. The ginger is just an accent in the scent. Once I got used to it, it was just an orange flavor (^_^;)

Do I really need the ginger here? Σ(´∀｀；)

I think a simple orange flavor is enough to enjoy it, but at 200 yen, it's a bit expensive for just Bayarese Orange taste... On the other hand, if you buy it expecting ginger flavor, you'll be disappointed. I recommend drinking it as just regular orange juice.

It contains 80mg of caffeine. There are no other energy ingredients included. The exact amounts are unknown, but it seems to contain some orange, though the fruity flavor is hardly noticeable.

The combination of orange and yellow-green. Surprisingly, there haven't been any orange-flavored or even orange-colored products in the 28BLACK or 28DRINKS series so far.

Orange is such a standard flavor, and there are so many easily available rivals like low-priced carbonated drinks or 100% orange juice that it's hard to compete with.

Maybe that's why they chose to make it an orange-ginger flavor rather than just an ordinary orange one. Personally, I was glad to drink it without any overwhelming spiciness, and it tasted good (*´艸｀*)
