Limited edition, non-commercial energy drinks

Posted on July 15, 2014 | Last updated February 17, 2025

These are limited edition or non-commercial energy drinks that are not sold in the general public. We'll see, touch, drink and report on the ones we actually got our hands on.

Author informationAuthor: Energy Drink-kun

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Red Bull Toro Rosso Honda Design Can

Toro Rosso Honda Design Can
This is a collaboration design can of Red Bull released in Japan, featuring the Toro Rosso design. It was sold exclusively at the Suzuka Circuit in 2018 and also distributed within Honda-related circles, so it was not available nationwide. Despite being a limited edition can that was intended for nationwide PR purposes, it was only available in very limited locations, making it quite a rare item.

Monster Energy's Mineral Water in PET Bottles

Monster Energy Mineral Water in PET Bottles
This is a non-sellable mineral water PET bottle from the Monster Energy headquarters in the U.S. It's a collector's item that is little known and hardly has any information online. Although it's not an energy drink, it's a non-sellable mineral water from one of the world's top energy drink brands, so I thought I would share it here as well.

ROCKSTAR Inked Up CAN ART

ROCKSTAR Inked Up CAN ART
This is a non-sellable limited-edition can from Rockstar, associated with their Tattoo Art Tour. It is extremely difficult to obtain, and since the can features artwork from artists selected through voting, it holds great artistic value, which I believe makes it even more valuable as a collector's item.

Monster Energy Valentino Rossi The Doctor Can

Monster Energy Valentino Rossi The Doctor Can
This is a limited edition release from Monster Energy. It was distributed exclusively at MotoGP events around May 2014, making it difficult to obtain. However, it has gradually started being sold in European countries and is now available for general purchase.

This European version has a larger 500ml size and a taller can. The can has a textured finish similar to the Ultra series, and all the colors and logos used are from Valentino Rossi. The flavor is citrusy with an orange taste, and I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it is. Being a limited edition can probably makes it taste even better!

Red Bull F1 Edition

Red Bull F1 Edition
Red Bull's F1 Edition probably isn't available for sale, but there may be some areas where it's sold. It seems to be distributed primarily in areas accessible only to F1 race participants and staff, making it a rare limited edition can. The design doesn't quite resemble the usual Red Bull cans, but it is an official limited edition item. The flavor is a blend of berry and citrus, and seeing this can with this color definitely boosts my excitement!

Red Bull BULL

Red Bull BULL
This is said to be a non-sellable Red Bull can. I've heard it might be sold at certain restaurants, but I'm not sure... It is believed to have been distributed in connection with Red Bull TV in Austria. There are also other versions of BULL, such as one designed for New York's soccer club, where the contents are the same, but the logo on the back is different. Like the others, this one is completely limited edition.
The flavor is nearly identical to the F1 Edition, so the contents might be the same.
