AMP Energy Drink is a classic American energy drink brand, representing the U.S. and ranking among the top energy drink brands in the country. It is sold by PepsiCo and is also available in Canada.
AMP Originally Came from Mountain Dew's Energy Drink Line
Originally, AMP Energy Drink was launched as an energy drink line under the Mountain Dew brand. When it debuted in 2001, the packaging read "Amp Energy Drink from Mountain Dew," and the can design carried a distinct resemblance to Mountain Dew's branding. This was during the period when the energy drink boom exploded in the U.S.
After 2008, the Mountain Dew logo shrank significantly, and AMP Energy Drink started to establish its own presence in the energy drink market. During this period, limited-edition collaboration cans with racers were also released, gaining momentum for the brand.
AMP Energy Drink Becomes an Independent Product
Then, in 2011, AMP Energy officially separated from Mountain Dew, becoming its own standalone series under the AMP ENERGY brand. During this time, the cans featured music-themed designs, showcasing a colorful yet simple design. The AMP Energy Drink series expanded with the release of limited-edition and collaboration flavors.
Currently, the design has been further updated, with fruit motifs symbolizing the flavor of each drink, making it easier for consumers to imagine the taste based on the packaging.
AMP Energy Drink's New Developments
In 2016, AMP released two flavors with bottle caps, followed by the launch of limited-edition campaign cans in collaboration with TWITCH. In 2017, the AMP ORGANIC series was introduced with a 335ml long can, certified by the USDA as organic.
