This is a review of AMP ENERGY TROPICAL PUNCH, a limited-edition flavor released on August 22, 2016, as part of a campaign collaboration between AMP and TWITCH.

The TWITCH collaboration can was initially a 7-Eleven exclusive in the U.S., making it a store-limited flavor at the time. However, the design and color were later revamped to black, and the regular version of AMP ENERGY TROPICAL PUNCH was launched as a standard product.

Incidentally, when AMP ENERGY TROPICAL PUNCH became a regular item, the Passion Fruit flavor was discontinued in exchange.

The taste delivers exactly as expected: a tropical fruit flavor with a base of cherry punch and pineapple, with a hint of orange. It’s a fruit punch that’s easy to enjoy and absolutely delicious (๑´ڡ`๑)

This flavor captures the name “Tropical Punch” perfectly, offering a fruity experience with a classic punch feel. Despite the typical punch profile, it leaves behind less residue, making it refreshingly smooth without a sticky aftertaste. That’s what makes Tropical Punch so enjoyable.

It strikes a balance between the rich, fruity intensity of classic punch and the tropical notes from pineapple, making it appealing to a wide audience.

Tropical Punch debuted in the summer of 2016 alongside the TWITCH collaboration limited-edition can. The revamped AMP series featured black cans for all flavors except for Tropical Punch, which stood out in a purple can—a special touch for a limited release.

The TWITCH collaboration lineup included three flavors, all exclusive to U.S. 7-Eleven stores, making Tropical Punch a store-limited flavor.

This collaboration with TWITCH is also seen as a predecessor to the AMP Game Fuel series released in 2019.

Interestingly, there are slight differences between the promotional design and the actual AMP ENERGY TROPICAL PUNCH can, even though the final can design should have been ready before the ad was created.

Released as a Regular Black Can Version in 2017

In 2017, after the TWITCH collaboration ended, a standard black AMP ENERGY TROPICAL PUNCH was introduced. At the same time, the Passion Fruit flavor was discontinued. Since then, Tropical Punch has remained a long-running hit, proving the popularity of punch flavors.

A revisit to this drink brings back the bright blend of sweet cherry punch and tropical fruit notes—a wonderful combination.
