Bacchus Carbonated ENERGY DRINK
Bacchus is the most famous nutritional drink brand in South Korea. Internationally (outside of South Korea), they also offer an energy drink series.
In this review, I’ll be talking about the carbonated Bacchus Energy Drink, which I purchased in Russia for the international market.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of Bacchus Carbonated
When opened, you hear a satisfying hiss, and the signature Bacchus nutritional drink aroma fills the air. The carbonation makes the scent spread even more, which is a nice touch.
On tasting, it has a sweet and sour classic flavor. The carbonation is light, so the fizz isn't overwhelming, but it adds a refreshing touch.
Compared to the non-carbonated original Bacchus, I think this version is slightly milder in flavor. In terms of drinkability, the Bacchus Carbonated is definitely the winner. Its taste and aroma seem to be more appealing to a wider audience, with a more approachable profile.
That said, the base still retains the essence of a nutritional drink, with a concentrated feel that makes it stand apart from other energy drinks. It’s a different take on the classic energy drink flavor, offering a unique experience.
Energy Ingredients of Bacchus Carbonated
Contains 80mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, ginseng, inositol, and royal jelly. At 250ml, the taurine content is quite high, which is a common feature in nutritional drinks.
Design of Bacchus Carbonated
The packaging features a mix of dark gray, silver, and yellow, which is tailored for the international market. You can easily spot the carbonation design with subtle bubble shapes on the can.
This Bacchus Carbonated was purchased in Russia. Unlike the nutritional drinks sold in Asia, the energy drink version includes icons for royal jelly and ginseng.
On the back, you’ll still find the Hangul lettering, consistent with the Asian Bacchus products.
Here’s a photo of Bacchus Carbonated that I took in Russia in 2019.
It was half the price of a regular Red Bull in Russia! Even though it's an import from Korea, it was sold at a much lower price compared to other energy drinks in the local market.
