Flavor of bang BLUE RAZZ

A colorless, transparent, zero-calorie high-caffeine energy drink with no artificial coloring. The transparency gives it a somewhat eerie feeling (^_^;)

Upon opening, I initially noticed a sweet, artificial blueberry aroma from the gas that escaped, but once poured into a glass, the scent almost disappears. It seems that the aroma itself isn't that strong.

Let's give it a taste. Upon sipping, the flavor is a light blueberry-like sweetness mixed with a refreshing acai-like taste, creating an artificial berry flavor. Although there is sweetness, it leaves a crisp aftertaste that doesn't linger in the mouth.

The artificial sweetener's distinctive sweet bitterness, which Drin-kun is quite sensitive to, is barely noticeable in this one, with no awkward aftertaste! Overall, it's a light sweetness, so if you're expecting a rich flavor, this might be a bit of a letdown.

With zero sugar and zero calories, this is ideal if you're looking for a light drink during exercise. It's especially great that the unpleasant taste of artificial sweeteners is completely eliminated (*´艸｀*)

Energy Ingredients of bang BLUE RAZZ

Unfortunately, the caffeine content has been reduced to 300mg. Originally, the bang series boasted the highest caffeine content among energy drinks with 375mg, but that's been lowered. All the new products now contain 300mg.

For optimal training, it contains creatine, glutamine, and CoQ10, but no sugar, carbohydrates, calories, or artificial coloring.

Considering the recent deaths allegedly linked to caffeine, reducing the caffeine content might be a response, as drinking two cans of bang could have resulted in a significant caffeine intake. It's a shame since it stood out with its high caffeine content, but even at 300mg, it's still among the higher end of energy drinks. So, be cautious not to overdo it.

Design of bang BLUE RAZZ

Despite the significant redesign, bang BLUE RAZZ continues to be one of the flavors in the series.

The initial design from when I first reviewed it in 2015 is on the left. The bullet passing through gives it an intense, edgy vibe.

The design then evolved to the middle and finally to the current design on the right. Personally, I prefer the original bullet design the most. Around 2017, the brand pivoted heavily towards the fitness market, which led to the redesign.

The initial design was so aggressive that looking at it now, it's a bit overwhelming! (laughs)

The tab has remained the same from the initial design, featuring the orange ring tab. This has stayed consistent.

The light blueberry flavor makes it easy to drink during training without feeling out of place. In fact, Drin-kun starts drinking it a little before training and continues sipping it during the workout, finding it very easy to drink without feeling more thirsty (ｕ_ｕ*)

Compared to the Rockstar Xdurance series, which also chased the expansion of the bang series, I feel like the blue raspberry flavor is much better suited for sports, and it’s definitely a more pleasant experience.

Bang Series Expanding Globally

In 2019, bang achieved great success in the U.S., and its high-caffeine fitness energy drink is now being sold globally, including in Canada.

This is the Canadian version of Blue Razz. It contains 473ml, just like in the U.S., and the design is almost identical to the 2019 U.S. version.

Bang, known for its high caffeine content, features a 473ml can in Canada, but it’s capped at 180mg. It also contains a smaller amount of BCAAs.

The back design doesn't include the American flag or anything like it, opting for a simpler design. The unique bang design is now more understated, making it look more like a typical energy drink.
