The refreshing and juicy sweetness of pear spreads in your mouth with a moderate tartness. While the name "Purple Guava" is included, you barely feel the guava at all. The main flavor is pear, specifically the sweet taste of European pears. It's well done, and the characteristic sweetness of pear is recreated perfectly.

Since it's sugar-free, the pear flavor is naturally adjusted with artificial sweeteners and flavoring, but the distinct taste of artificial sweeteners is surprisingly absent. The refreshing, savory taste feels so natural that you almost forget it's sugar-free.

The reason it didn’t focus purely on pear flavor is probably to add some tartness that isn't in pears, to mellow out the unpleasant taste of artificial sweeteners.

Personally, I'd love to see a 100% pear flavor, even if it has a bit of sugar. The pear flavor here is that well-done.

The name "Purple Guava Pear" is a bit misleading, as it mostly tastes like European pear. The flavor is pear, but the can color doesn’t match, which creates a bit of a mismatch.

By the way, Bang made a promotional video for PURPLE GUAVA PEAR. The quality of the video isn’t high, but it definitely has the characteristic Bang style with fitness girls featured prominently.

Bang's promotion is one of the most direct and effective in the U.S. energy drink scene, so it’s fascinating to watch the brand evolve, not just for the drinks but also to get a glimpse of the current American culture.

The back features Bang’s Zero label. The American flag is beautifully depicted, and I love the classic vibe.

However, from 2019 onward, the flag was removed...which is a bit disappointing.

Bang has been consistently updating its designs and continuing to release new flavors while maintaining the number of existing flavors. It’s unclear when older products will be discontinued, but I really hope PURPLE GUAVA PEAR stays around.
