bang ROOT BEER BLAZE
In 2017, as bang's momentum began to accelerate, the Root Beer flavor was released. Known for its "medicated" taste, or "Salonpas" flavor, let's see what happens when bang makes Root Beer.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Flavor of bang ROOT BEER BLAZE

bang ROOT BEER BLAZE
When poured into a glass, it has the typical transparent color of bang, but with a slight yellowish tint. Since no coloring agents are used, it must be due to the ingredients.

The aroma spreads with the unique scent of root beer—more like a medicinal smell than a chemical one.

I’m not particularly fond of this aroma, but let’s drink it anyway.

From the moment it hits the lips, the strong medicinal aroma wraps around the throat... The taste itself is a refreshing sweetness that doesn’t overpower the aroma, which is good. If the taste were too strong, it would clash with the scent, creating a muddled flavor. When chilled, the mild sweetness nicely complements the medicinal scent.

There is no aftertaste, and almost no flavor of artificial sweeteners. The medicinal scent lingers throughout, making its presence known. If you enjoy root beer’s medicinal flavor, this could be a good choice for a summer drink or quick hydration after a workout.

That said, the medicinal scent is so dominant that while it’s fine for a review, I wouldn’t choose to drink Root Beer Blaze on purpose (^_^;)

Energy Ingredients of bang ROOT BEER BLAZE

Contains 300mg of caffeine, creatine, BCAA, and CoQ10. It doesn’t seem to contain any special herbal ingredients.

Design of bang ROOT BEER BLAZE

The can is designed with red and black, possibly to reflect root beer. However, the drink itself is clear. I think it would have been better if the can color matched the contents. The transparency gives the feeling of drinking something artificial, especially since root beer is typically associated with darker colors.

The signature zero logo of bang is visible, alongside the 18+ label and the American flag, which give it that bang feel.

One of the characteristics of energy drinks is offering multiple flavors under one brand, but root beer is rarely seen. Canadian brand Beaver Buzz also had a root beer flavor, but "root beer" is a common flavor yet not often used in energy drinks.

Bang has rapidly expanded its flavor lineup and succeeded in increasing its market share, so we might see even more unusual flavors in the future that haven’t been used in energy drinks before.
