In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of BARK Energy Drink
Upon opening, there is a distinct scent of a classic flavor with a hint of perfume-like fragrance. The color is a relatively bright gold, which is quite beautiful.
When you take a sip, it has a sweet and sour classic flavor. My first impression is "It's just really good!" The balance between the sweet aroma and the sharp sourness is well-achieved, offering a stable and delicious taste.
It’s not too sweet, not too sour, and the chemical taste is subdued, making it a crowd-pleasing type. The aftertaste and lingering aroma are not overpowering, creating a perfect, refreshing drinking experience despite being a classic flavor.
It's a typical classic flavor closer to Red Bull, but it manages to strike a good balance between the taste, drinkability, artificial flavors, and refreshing feeling that are essential for an energy drink.
While it doesn’t have any standout flavor features, it’s just that PB energy drinks are known for their stable flavor and ingredients that are affordable, and BARK perfectly meets these expectations. For a PB energy drink, it’s highly rated and also stands out as a high-quality classic flavor.
Energy Ingredients of BARK Energy Drink
It contains 100mg of caffeine and 417.5mg of arginine. This is a typical ingredient composition. The caffeine content is slightly higher than the standard amount.
If you enjoy the classic flavor and caffeine intake, and you're looking for a good energy drink, you might find yourself completely switching to BARK, which is priced much more affordably compared to major brands.
Design of BARK Energy Drink
The logo with the word "BARK" looks slightly cheap, but the blue and silver color scheme is simple and nice.
At the top of the can, the logo of BELL's original product line "Kurashi ni Belc" is displayed.
On the back, there's a poetic text about BARK written in English. It might be a little confusing at first due to being in English, but it's quite a long passage, and the energy drink's cringeworthy poem is a rare feature for PB energy drinks.
There's also an official promotional video for BARK by Belc.
I wonder if the cheap look was intentional!
