BEAVER BUZZ ENERGY GREEN TEA
BEAVER BUZZ Green Tea. Just like Monster's Rehab series, this is a sweet drink that is completely different from what Japanese people think of as green tea. It's a standard North American-style green tea (^_^;)

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of BEAVER BUZZ ENERGY GREEN TEA
When poured into a glass, it has a slightly cloudy, bright color, a shade that is familiar to those who often drink North American tea energy drinks. Now, let’s give it a try.
As I take a sip, a sweet aroma envelops my senses. When I first opened the can, I didn’t think the scent would be this strong.
The flavor is light and refreshing with a sweetness that doesn’t seem like it contains much sugar. It has a distinct North American green tea flavor with a mix of catechin bitterness and astringency.
Since the sweetness is so refreshing, I thought they might have toned it down with artificial sweeteners, but... turns out it actually contains a whopping 59g of sugar. I’m genuinely surprised it feels so refreshing despite that much sugar.
Energy Ingredients of BEAVER BUZZ ENERGY GREEN TEA
It contains 131mg of caffeine, 1338mg of taurine, 133mg of guarana, 402mg of green tea extract, and 5mg of honey.
I wondered why there was honey in it, and then I realized it’s actually included!
Green tea and honey—this combination might be hard for Japanese people to understand, right? (^_^;) The sweet flavor, which barely retains the green tea taste, is a characteristic of North American tea energy drinks.
Once you accept it for what it is, it’s actually quite enjoyable ( ´∀`)b!
Green Tea: A Long-Time Bestseller
I’m not sure if BEAVER BUZZ ENERGY GREEN TEA is a bestseller, but...
It has become a staple product in the BEAVER BUZZ series that has been around for a long time. Even though some flavors have been discontinued, it’s interesting that Green Tea has managed to survive. (As of 2024, it seems the product has been discontinued, as it is no longer listed on the official website.)
The tab is, for some reason, a silver-ring tab. Normally, the BEAVER BUZZ ENERGY GREEN TEA series uses black logo tabs.
I’m not sure why only the Green Tea flavor has a ring tab.
For Japanese people, North American-style green tea flavors are unfamiliar, so those trying it for the first time might be surprised, thinking, "What is this...!?" But as you get used to it, you’ll find that the sweet North American green tea flavor becomes enjoyable.
In particular, I think BEAVER BUZZ ENERGY GREEN TEA is well-made, and if you don’t think of it as a “green tea flavor,” it could actually be accepted by Japanese people too. So, maybe the key is not to think of it as “green tea flavor”!
