Released in 2015, BOMBA! C-500 adds 500mg of Vitamin C. The design is different from the previous BOMBA! series, and I thought this would lead to a series of products with differentiated ingredients. However, C-500 itself has disappeared (^_^;)

It has a beautiful champagne color. The color of the can and the Vitamin C focus make it easy to imagine for Japanese consumers.

When you take a sip, the strong sourness you might expect before drinking is not there. Instead, it has a mild sourness, making it a drinkable Vitamin C beverage.

There’s a lemon-like acidity, with an additional unique flavor, but it's difficult to pinpoint what exactly it is. This flavor comes across as a bit off, something I would consider an unwanted aftertaste. It doesn’t linger much, so it should be an easy flavor for most people to enjoy.

Perhaps because I’m Japanese, I thought a Vitamin C-focused drink would be more sour. The sourness in C-500 is less than half of that in the small bottled Vitamin C drinks many Japanese are familiar with.

By the way, BOMBA! ENERGY C-500 is not officially a lemon flavor but is labeled as a "raspberry" flavor. However, no matter how you drink it, it doesn’t taste like raspberry at all... There’s no fruitiness, and even if I focus on the off flavor, it still doesn’t feel like raspberry. That said, it's definitely not a pure lemon flavor, and it's hard to define what exactly it tastes like.

It contains 37.5mg of caffeine and 500mg of Vitamin C. No other energy ingredients are included. While 500mg of Vitamin C might not be a large amount, it's interesting to see such a variant-like product emerge.

Incidentally, the faint round pattern on the back is somewhat mysterious, but it turns out to be raspberry... Although the taste was a bit awkward Σ(´∀｀；)

The red and yellow combination that evokes a lifebuoy definitely catches the eye. It would stand out significantly when placed on store shelves as a new product.

On the bottom of the can, it always says "THE ENERGY COMPANY", but for C-500, it has "Raspberry" written on it. The mark I thought was a red cross seems to be a "Vitamin C 500mg + Raspberry" plus sign mark.

It's interesting when products differentiate themselves not just by taste or design, but also by ingredients. Even for a low-cost energy drink brand, products like C-500 that have a twist can be quite tempting to pick up. I’m looking forward to seeing what else BOMBA! comes out with in the future.
