BOOSTER's classic energy drink, BOOSTER JUICY, is one of their regular offerings. At first, it seems like it might be a high fruit juice content energy drink, but it turns out to be quite ordinary, which was a bit of a letdown.

Given the name "Juicy," I expected the drink to be cloudy from fruit juice, but it turned out to be a clear, reddish-purple.

When I take a sip, a classic sweet and sour cranberry flavor spreads. The acidity is mild, and the taste and aroma are neither too strong nor too weak, just a safe, standard flavor without any distinct notes. It's more like a basic cranberry juice with no strong, unique flavor.

A slight berry-like astringency lingers in the aftertaste, giving a bit more depth than just a flat cranberry flavor sweetened with sugar and aroma, but it doesn't reach the level of enjoying any actual pulp or fruitiness that the name "Juicy" might suggest.

It's a universally acceptable, safe flavor that isn't likely to fail, but it also doesn’t stand out. That said, BOOSTER JUICY has been a long-time bestseller, available for nearly a decade. Perhaps the steady taste has gained broad acceptance.

Energy Ingredients of BOOSTER JUICY

It contains 105.6mg of caffeine, 1320mg of taurine, and guarana, along with cranberry, pomegranate, and apple. However, it seems there’s not enough fruit content to truly experience the fruitiness.

The design with the flashy concentric lines is quite familiar by now. Every time I see the word "Juicy," I wish the taste could have been richer, with a more intense, robust fruit flavor. That said, the flavor itself is safe, with a steady cranberry flavor that doesn’t feel off, so there’s no real issue with it.

So, let’s compare them to check for any degradation. From left to right, it’s 2012, 2015, and 2019.

The color is the same across all versions, and there’s no sign of discoloration or degradation. However, the 2012 version had a noticeably deteriorated smell. Tasting it side by side, the acidity was more pronounced, showing some flavor degradation after 8 years.

That said, all of them undeniably have a cranberry flavor, and it seems the flavor has remained consistent since 2012. It seems that sticking with a stable cranberry flavor without any gimmicks has been the right decision to keep selling it.

Looking at the tabs, it used to have a pink tab, but recently it has switched to a pink top and blue tab. BOOSTER's standard flavors now all use a blue tab for consistency. Blue tabs on drinks are also used by Red Bull in Germany, which is interesting since BOOSTER is also sold there and could be subtly aiming to resemble Red Bull’s design.
