BSC ENERGY LIME CRUSH
This is a review of BSC ENERGY LIME CRUSH, one of three flavors in the energy drink series by Australian supplement manufacturer Body Science, released in October 2023.
Previously, this drink was sold at a high price in convenience stores and supplement shops, which made me hesitant to buy it. However, in 2024, I found it on sale at a supermarket for just 3 AUD, so I was able to buy all the flavors at a great price.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of BSC ENERGY LIME CRUSH
When I open the can, a citrus candy scent bursts out. It's not the real smell of lime fruit, but more like the artificial lime juice aroma. The color of the drink is an unusual green, not something you'd see in nature. Let's take a sip.
When I take a sip, the taste is a mix of sugary sweetness and a slight bitterness from the lime, giving it a lime candy flavor.
There's no fruity taste, and the lime flavor and acidity are quite subtle. It might be easier to understand if I describe it as tasting like lime-flavored shaved ice syrup with sugar mixed in. The flavor matches the color of the drink.
It’s surprisingly sweet for a sugar-free drink, and if you're craving something sweet, it tastes amazing. This drink focuses more on being a sweet treat without guilt rather than delivering a true lime flavor.
Personally, I'd like to enjoy a more authentic lime taste, so I don't think I'll be repeating this one.
Energy Ingredients of BSC ENERGY LIME CRUSH
It contains 160mg of caffeine, 2000mg of taurine, and 600mg of glucuronolactone.
I appreciate how the nutritional and energy ingredients are clearly separated and listed in detail on the back of the can. Energy drinks from supplement companies like Body Science tend to provide detailed ingredient information, reflecting their focus on transparency and quality.
Design of BSC ENERGY LIME CRUSH
The design features a striking green gorilla. The BSC ENERGY series uses a different animal as the main visual for each flavor, and for this one, it's a gorilla.
The back of the can has a vibrant design with BSC ENERGY's ingredients and effects listed with icons. It's a lively design, fitting for a company transitioning from fitness supplements to energy drinks.

It stands out in stores, even among existing energy drinks.
I had seen it occasionally in convenience stores since 2023, but the price was so high that I held off on purchasing it.
However, in 2024, it started showing up in supermarkets, priced at just 3 AUD per can, so I grabbed all the flavors! I was really excited to finally be able to try them.
In Australia, it’s often sold at supplement shops as well as convenience stores, but it’s usually quite expensive, so I recommend checking supermarkets for the best price.
