BULLIT WALDMEISTER
The BULLIT WALDMEISTER flavor from the low-cost energy drink brand BULLIT, released in Germany in 2023. I decided to try it without translating "WALDMEISTER" and taste it for myself.
What flavor do you imagine from this color? Lime? Cactus? Gummy or candy? If you get the chance to try it, I suggest stopping the review for a moment and savoring the taste carefully to find out for yourself what it's like.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of BULLIT WALDMEISTER
Upon opening the can, a sweet and rich aroma with a hint of grassy scent bursts out. Without looking at the flavor name, just judging by the can's color, I imagined it would be a lime or cactus flavor, but I was mistaken... Honestly, I couldn't imagine what flavor it was based on the scent. The color of the liquid is a vivid green that doesn’t exist in nature. What flavor is this!? Let me take a sip and find out.
As I take a sip, the flavor of strong acidity from lime, lemon, passion fruit, and sour apple comes through, with the sweet, rich aroma of maple syrup enveloping it. It tastes like a heavily sweetened fruit candy made with strongly acidic fruits, topped with maple syrup.
The slightly rough maple syrup aroma is distinctive, but it’s quite delicious. The taste itself is not overly sweet but emphasizes a refreshing acidity, which blends well with the sweet aroma of the maple syrup.
After drinking this, I looked up "WALDMEISTER," and it turns out that in Germany, the green liquid is commonly associated with WALDMEISTER, which is a traditional flavor. It's the flavor of a plant called "クルマバソウ" (Woodruff).
In Germany, it's known as a plant that heralds the arrival of spring with its white flowers and is used to flavor various foods. I see now that the sweet maple syrup-like aroma is a recreation of WALDMEISTER's scent. I’m intrigued and want to try more delicious WALDMEISTER flavors in the future.
Energy Ingredients in BULLIT WALDMEISTER
It contains 160mg of caffeine. Unlike other BULLIT series drinks, it doesn't include taurine—just caffeine. It seems that WALDMEISTER is added primarily for flavoring.
Design of BULLIT WALDMEISTER
The BULLIT series released in Germany in 2023 has a simple design combining mirror silver and two flavor-specific colors.
For foreigners, this green combination may typically evoke images of green apple or kiwi, but for Germans, WALDMEISTER is likely the first thing that comes to mind.
Aside from the color that reflects WALDMEISTER, the design gives off a bit of the typical low-cost energy drink "cheap" vibe.
This is the 2023 German retail display. While the can design isn't exactly sophisticated, when displayed in cases with different colors, it creates a colorful and visually appealing setup.
It’s about half the price of major brands, so if you happen to visit a supermarket during a trip to Europe, feel free to grab one and give it a try.
