In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of burn zero
It looks bright red, but when poured, it has a lighter, more transparent appearance. The aroma is slightly weaker compared to the original.
burn zero has a milder, more refreshing scent compared to the original, with a less intense sweet-and-sour berry aroma and sugary candy-like sweetness. This makes it less overwhelming and might leave a better impression.
As expected, the flavor is a typical zero-calorie berry type, with a light taste. There's almost no sourness, and you can detect a faint sweetness from artificial sweeteners along with a slight bitterness.
When gulped down quickly, the aftertaste is quite pleasant, with a recreated berry tartness following the artificial sweetener's taste. While the initial impression is very much "another zero-calorie berry drink," the overall experience—including the aroma and aftertaste—delivers a well-replicated berry flavor. Unlike many other zero-calorie drinks, it avoids an overpowering sourness and instead maintains a solid berry profile, which is quite appealing.
Personally, I would rate it as upper-mid among zero-calorie berry flavors (u_u*)
Energy Ingredients of burn zero
It contains 80mg of caffeine and 1000mg of taurine, along with guarana and other ingredients. With artificial sweeteners, the calorie content is less than 4 kcal per 100ml, allowing it to be labeled as zero-calorie.
Even the flames on the ingredient list at the back are in blue, making them look beautiful (*´ェ`*)
Classic BURN Colors
Since it's a zero-calorie version, the color scheme follows a blue-white theme, including the text on the ingredient list. Unlike Blue Refresh, this blue-white flame concept is distinct and gives off a cool vibe.
Unlike other brands, BURN tends to unify its design around the flame logo, using the flame and color schemes to establish an identity rather than relying on flashy elements. I personally appreciate this approach.
Thanks to this simplicity, even the more subtle designs of the juice series stand out, emphasizing their refreshing and energetic appeal (*´ェ`*)
