Review of the clever ENERGY DRINK KIWI, a private brand energy drink from the Austrian supermarket chain, released in June 2024.

I bought it during my trip to Austria in the summer of 2024. I was surprised after tasting it—this low-price supermarket PB energy drink features an unbelievably rich kiwi flavor.

When opened, a sweet and tangy fragrance of kiwi and green apple fills the air. The scent immediately assures me that it's going to be delicious, so let's try it right away.

As I take a sip, the refreshing kiwi and green apple flavors spread, with a gentle sweetness and a hint of acidity.

The green apple flavor is stronger than the kiwi, but it’s very refreshing and fresh. Both fruits have a balanced acidity that enhances their juiciness without being overly sharp.

The scent isn't overly exaggerated, so even though it’s sugar-free, it gives you the sensation of drinking fresh green apple flavor. It’s surprisingly delicious for its price.

The taste isn’t heavy or sticky, so there’s hardly any aftertaste left in the mouth. It's so good that I finish it in no time... and it’s just 0.49 euros.

The new clever ENERGY series has been revamped with a combination of flavor colors and mirrored silver. This time, the flavor color is a yellow-green that represents kiwi.

In 2023, however, the energy drink series was redesigned, and unfortunately, it adopted this unappealing combination of mirrored silver and flavor colors. It’s a big disappointment.

Despite its excellent taste, ingredients, and price, which make it a cost-effective PB energy drink, the design has definitely declined. I hope they’ll soon renew it to match the design of other clever products, using white as the base color.
