Miracle Energy V vs Energy Bomber

Posted on May 26, 2015 | Last updated February 11, 2025

Miracle Energy V vs Energy Bomber
The two representative 100-yen energy drinks, Miracle Energy V and Energy Bomber. Both offer a taste and ingredients comparable to 200-yen energy drinks, providing a genuine energy drink experience with excellent flavor, making them wallet-friendly options.
I compared these two similar, budget-friendly energy drinks!

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Comparison of Miracle Energy V and Energy Bomber!

The colors are so similar that it almost seems like the contents are the same!
The carbonation strength, foam, color, and thickness are all almost identical.

Miracle Energy V

It has a sweet scent with a flavor reminiscent of the original Monster, offering a pronounced sweetness.
As for the taste, it's undoubtedly a sweet, classic flavor, but it also carries a slight medicinal aftertaste, which adds a unique twist. It's a somewhat greedy combination of sweet classic flavors and chemical undertones.
When chilled, the chemical taste becomes slightly stronger.

Energy Bomber

The scent is a more tangy, classic Red Bull-style fragrance.
As for the taste, it's less sweet and has a tangy note, making it a refreshing flavor. However, when compared to Miracle Energy V, it has a slightly perfumed taste, which may be noticeable for some.
When chilled, the fresh, classic flavor intensifies, making it a perfect summer beverage.

How do you compare the tastes?

If you like the sweet scent and rich flavor of Monster, Miracle Energy V is for you.
On the other hand, Energy Bomber offers a more refreshing, slightly tangy flavor, reminiscent of Red Bull. It may even gain more popularity due to its less distinctive aftertaste.

For 100 yen, it's a great deal, and it makes you wonder what other 200 yen, smaller energy drinks are doing. It's really impressive in terms of quality ( ´∀`)b!

Comparison of the Packaging of Miracle Energy V and Energy Bomber

Both feature a black base with an image of intense energy, which gives a similar impression. The designs aren't particularly high-level, but personally, I think Miracle Energy V has a more logo-like and cohesive design overall.

This could change if there were more color and flavor variations lined up.
Although it's hard to imagine in Japan, in overseas markets, even low-priced energy drinks under $1 or €1 with somewhat simple designs can still look quite appealing due to series releases.

Comparison of the Ingredients of Miracle Energy V and Energy Bomber

Miracle Energy V vs Energy Bomber
The caffeine content is 22mg in Miracle Energy V and 80mg in Energy Bomber, but neither is too high, so I don't think the difference is a major concern.
Arginine content is 325mg in Miracle Energy V and 300mg in Energy Bomber, a negligible difference.
Additionally, Miracle Energy V contains just 100mg of taurine, which is so minuscule that it's unlikely to have any noticeable effect.

Both are packed with energy ingredients, but they aren't overwhelmingly strong, and it's safe to say there's no significant difference from other 200 yen energy drinks.

Summary of Miracle Energy V vs Energy Bomber

Both offer similar ingredient profiles to the typical energy drinks available in Japan but come at an affordable price of around 100 yen, which is great value for energy drink enthusiasts.

Personally, I believe that having these low-cost energy drinks alongside Red Bull and Monster in the fridge would give consumers more choices. As they expand into more flavors and colorful cans, it might slowly shift the trend in the energy drink world.

If they manage to position energy drinks as a brand rather than just a product, something may change in the market (laughs).
This, however, is probably the most difficult challenge.
