24oz Red Bull 24 cans consumed leading to death news
A news story from the US about a man who drank 24 cans of 24oz Red Bull within 18 hours and died has been widely shared in Japan as a sensational news article. This has led to a surge in views, perhaps reminding people just how dangerous American Red Bull can be! (^_^;)
Here is the original article that started the buzz:

Now, as an energy drink enthusiast, I'll share my thoughts on the 'Red Bull 24oz cans and death' story. (As an energy drink maniac, I don't have professional qualifications in medicine, healthcare, or public health, so I won’t go deep into the ingredients or medical aspects.)
Author: Energy Drink-kun
In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
24oz Red Bull Does Not Exist
First of all, there is no 24oz can of Red Bull.
The largest size currently available on the market is the 20oz can. If there were a 24oz can, it would be a rare find, and I would have wanted to try it before drinking 24 cans. I didn’t read the articles circulating in Japan carefully at first, but upon rereading, I was surprised (as an energy drink enthusiast).
Since it was reported that a fatal accident occurred in the U.S., many people might have thought, “A 710ml Big Red Bull, that’s insane!” And since other major brands offer 710ml cans, those familiar with overseas energy drinks might have believed this.
Just Saw the News Summary and Fell for It
My initial thought was, "Wow, he drank 24 cans?" I wondered if someone had shot a viral video and messed up, thinking they might have overdone it and caused a tragedy. I closed the page, thinking, "Drinking that much, of course you’d die." However, just like with Energy Drink Guy, I think some people realized it was fake after looking closely at the details.
【Addendum Starts Here】
“A man who drank 24 cans of 24oz Red Bull reportedly died from a heart explosion” → The source article (https://t.co/KhhTGh6E8i) and the video (viewer discretion advised) actually describes symptoms of "flail chest" caused by broken ribs, which is unrelated to Red Bull, so it is not credible. https://t.co/8oKtzinTex (continued)

As for "flail chest," I’m not sure how much of it is true, so I can’t comment fully...【Addendum Ends Here】
Upon investigation, I found that fake news sites like this exist all over the world, and this one seems to be just another example. Now8news has published various shocking stories, such as "Red Bull caused heart explosions from overconsumption!" and others that make you want to say, "Come on, that’s just a joke." You can google Now8news if you’re curious about what other sites say about it.
Energy Drinks × Shocking News Become a Trend
Every time there are incidents or research findings about energy drinks, they spread like wildfire on social media. News about a new Red Bull flavor won’t get nearly as much attention as these types of shocking headlines.
As for Energy Drink Guy, I think as long as the consumption doesn’t exceed a reasonable amount—whether it's energy drinks, alcohol, or other juices—it's fine. I don't pay much attention to the rest...
Also, every time news comes from the U.S., I feel like a lot of people believe that "the ingredients in the U.S. are dangerous, but the ones in Japan are controlled." I suggest looking at the back of the can first (laughs).
Energy Drink Guy is Not a Proponent of Energy Drinks
When news about the dangers of energy drinks pops up, sometimes it sparks a little conversation among enthusiasts, but this article is not a rebuttal (*_*) Honestly, answering such claims wouldn’t make for an interesting article.
Energy Drink Guy does enjoy energy drinks quite a bit, but that doesn’t mean I’m out here saying, "Energy drinks are amazing! Everyone should drink more!" I don’t feel the need to push energy drinks on others.
It’s great if more people enjoy them, but I don’t want to force energy drinks on anyone. On the other hand, I’m not overly concerned when articles exaggerate the dangers of energy drinks and make them out to be evil. Most people probably just think, "Oh, here we go again" (laughs).
In the future, I plan to showcase and introduce around 1,500 different energy drink varieties. However, "Energy Drink Mania" is a site where you can explore the real world of energy drinks in a niche way, not one that aims to appeal to the general public.
If "Energy Drink Mania" leads some people to fall in love with energy drinks, that’s fantastic, and I’d love to enjoy it with other enthusiasts. It would be fun if people who are really into it influence others and, as a result, more people start liking energy drinks!
Energy Drink Guy and the Energy Drink Mania site are not trying to push energy drinks on everyone. We think it's fine if people just love them to the max, and if that ends up influencing others around them, that's great. We’re just casually enjoying them (u_u*)

While this topic was incredibly shocking, and the story spread widely on news sites and blogs, I thought I’d share my thoughts on it from an energy drink enthusiast's perspective.
