I was interviewed about energy drinks.

I Got Contacted by a Writer from a National Magazine

This happened quite a while ago, but I suddenly received contact from a writer who writes for a national magazine. They wanted to interview me for a feature in the magazine, and I decided to go ahead with it.

I thought it would be a simple question like "What do you think of energy drinks?" but it turned out to be quite a lot (really a lot), and I spent about 3 days thinking it over. The content was roughly about the past and future of the energy drink industry, Energy Drink Man, and energy drink reviews, that kind of thing. (Though the way it’s handled in the magazine might change.)

I think there will be parts that are cut or left out, but I’m still pretty excited about it. (Actually, I’ve been interviewed several times by major newspapers, magazines, and book publishers in the past, so I know the ropes.) It seems like other people besides Energy Drink Man were also interviewed, so I’ll probably only appear in about half of it. Unfortunately, the release has been delayed by a week due to some circumstances, but I’m looking forward to the release date!

It’s Surprising That a Magazine Interview Came

At first, I was surprised. I didn’t have any information about accepting interviews, and I never gave off the vibe that I wanted to do something like that. Plus, I’m the character for an energy drink site, right? lol

It’s a bit strange, but most of the people who come to the Energy Drink Maniac site or follow me on Twitter are real hardcore fans and energy drink enthusiasts, so I honestly wondered if a mainstream magazine would even be interested in such a niche site.

In the Future, I Plan to Openly Accept Interviews

I think our site is probably the one in Japan that showcases the coolest, most stylish, and fun aspects of energy drinks, so we’re not focusing on trends but on the essence of energy drinks. I think we can talk about that. So, if I get any more interview requests in the future, I’d like to be more open to accepting them.

However, while Energy Drink Man will take the interviews, the person behind the character will not be interviewed at all. lol This character of the ultimate energy drink maniac is what makes the interview work best.
