Monster Energy Korea
Recently, I received some Korean energy drinks as souvenirs. Just like in Japan and other countries, Monster Energy is available in Korea, and there aren’t many varieties, so it looks like I was able to complete the collection quite easily.
Monster Energy in Korea
These are the Monster Energy Original, Chaos, and JAVA Monster Mean Bean and Kona Blend. There are only four varieties, but the fact that the original size is the same as North America’s 473ml is great (*´ェ`*). Personally, I like the 355ml can for its appearance, but when it comes to holding it and drinking, I think the 473ml can’s thickness and overall volume feel just right.
I also looked up other Asian countries, and it seems like Hong Kong also has the 473ml size. I’m not sure if the 335ml Original is available in other countries, but it might be rare in Japan.
JAVA Monster in Korea
JAVA Monster in Korea comes in a 325ml can. It’s sized for shaking, unlike Japan’s 250ml Coffee Monster. It’s one size larger. As for the packaging, I can’t really say since the Japanese Coffee Monster hasn’t arrived yet, but I think it’s probably almost the same as the Mean Bean. The logo part in Japan probably says “coffee,” I think?
Update: Although the logo is slightly different, the Japanese Coffee Monster and the Korean Mean Bean are nearly identical.
Korean Originals
Additionally, I was given the Korean major energy drink HOT6 bottle and the 42.195km black can. As an energy drink enthusiast, I don’t mind searching for these or bringing back heavy items, but I’m sure it was a lot for an ordinary person to carry all this back (;´∀`).
However, I think there are still more varieties, so if I get the chance to go again, I’ll ask to get more!

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
