The Battle with Google Filters
When I checked on March 14, I found that searching for "energy drink" brought the site back to the first page.
It’s rare to find an energy drink site this straightforward (;´∀`), but until about a year ago, when I searched for "energy drink," the site had been pushed further down the rankings.
As soon as the filter was applied and the rank dropped, it no longer appeared in the default "relatedness sorted" news search (though it shows up in the "newest first" sort), and it completely disappeared from the Discover section of the Chrome app. I didn't think the rank drop was because the content of the site was lacking; I assumed some kind of filter was applied to the entire domain.
Currently, the site has returned to the first page in regular search results, so that's an improvement. However, it hasn’t returned to news search or Discover, meaning the filter hasn’t been completely removed yet, and there’s still a chance it could be filtered again. At this point, I’ve stopped expecting anything from Google lol.
Google still cannot judge the overall content or depth of a site, or even whether the information presented is factual. This is understandable, since it’s difficult for even a real person to make that judgment.
However, I believe Energy Drink Mania is an extremely clear "energy drink site," with daily updates on energy drinks from around the world. Despite this, it’s disheartening to see it not ranking high, knowing that some unintended filter is likely to blame, but still feeling like the site isn’t being evaluated properly.
By the way, I’ve made various adjustments in the past few months to address what I think may be causing the filter. The filter wasn’t removed immediately after those adjustments, but I think the latest update finally reflected those changes, bringing us to the current state.
It’s tough to see such a merciless filter applied for something so minor...

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
