There are almost no Raizin Energy Drinks available.
I happened to find the newly designed packaging of Raizin Energy Drink's Fruity Thunder displayed as a new product recently, so I went around to a few other stores to check, and I found that there were very few Raizin products in stock. Even the main product, Raizin Gold Free, wasn't available.
It seems that the redesign happened in early October, but some stores still have stock of the old design, so it looks like it will take some time before the new design of Fruity Thunder is available nationwide. I prefer the new design, which is prettier, but I think the taste might be a matter of personal preference.
Also, the 250ml mini size priced at 200 yen seems way too expensive for Japan... While energy drinks in 355ml and 500ml sizes are becoming popular at the same price of 200 yen, the 250ml mini cans are displayed alone at the same price of 200 yen, which is tough. Even Red Bull, with its overwhelming brand power, seems to be struggling, so it looks like Raizin Energy Drink has no choice but to go with a 500ml size.
Moreover, I believe many people focus mainly on caffeine when it comes to energy drinks, but the new Raizin Energy Drink has zero caffeine. Those who aren't fond of energy drinks probably don't dislike caffeine per se, but they likely don't like artificial beverages in general, so it would be better to quickly bring back the regular energy drink with caffeine, increase the size, and invest heavily in brand-building. The market for unhealthy energy drinks is still expected to grow.
Monster Energy and ZONe Energy Drink, which have created mechanisms to buzz automatically every time a new product is released, are strong. I hope Raizin can achieve that as well.
It's quite a bargain that a regular soft drink, which isn't subject to any special taxes or strict regulations, can be sold for 200 yen. I think it would be good to continue a "promotion that appeals to the public" for about five years. "Supporting worlds that aren't widely known" should be done after the brand has gained proper recognition.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
