In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Intense Strawberry Flavor of Shaved Ice Syrup
The color is outrageous, isn't it? Even the bubbles rising from the carbonation were bright red.
When you take a sip, it’s the typical sugar-heavy, sweet strawberry flavor you find in Southeast Asia. It feels like drinking shaved ice syrup straight from the bottle. However, upon further tasting, there’s no heavy, sticky aftertaste from the sugar; it’s almost as if the sugar is just there for fragrance, capturing that Southeast Asian style.
There is no fruitiness of real strawberries, just the sweetness and fragrance of sugar, which gives it that “strawberry syrup flavor.” While it’s not unpleasant, the artificial taste feels like it’s bad for you, and opinions on this will definitely vary.
If you're someone who wants to try an artificially sweetened strawberry flavor that feels a bit unhealthy, go for it! It's much easier to drink than the super sweet energy drinks from Southeast Asia, and it’s perfect for those looking to dip their toes into the world of extremely sweet strawberry syrup-flavored drinks. Energy Ingredients of DRIVE ME ENERGY BERRY KICK
Contains 134mg of caffeine and 197mg of taurine. The sugar content, which I was concerned about, is 30g, which is surprisingly average. In fact, it might even be on the lower end. It’s interesting how they’ve managed to create such an unhealthily sweet taste with this amount (*´艸`*)
Design of DRIVE ME ENERGY BERRY KICK
The can is bright red, which matches the contents perfectly. The overall design is pretty standard for energy drinks.
At first glance, it looks like it just says "DRIVE," but if you look closely at the bottom right of the "E," you'll find the small "ME." This makes the product name "DRIVE ME." It’s a bit hard to notice...
On the back, it mentions the caffeine, taurine, and B vitamins. The mosaic design is pretty cool, right?
The 449ml can has the same height as a 500ml can, but it’s slightly smaller in diameter, making it easy to grip even for women. I think this size is quite common in Russia, so it might be the standard there, but personally, I prefer this size over the 500ml. 500ml feels like too much.
