Juggler Energy
The second edition of the pachislot Juggler energy drink.
The first edition, Go-Go Energy Juggler, was released in 2014 during the first energy drink boom. It's hard to believe that after 7 years... it’s being released again. The product is sold by Daiko, a pachinko-related goods manufacturer.
Single-release energy drinks like this tend to either have a lackluster flavor or end up being surprisingly good. So, which category does Juggler Energy fall into?

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of Juggler Energy
The scent is just as expected, a classic energy drink flavor. It’s not overly sweet, and the chemical smell isn't too strong. The fragrance has a moderate energy drink-like aroma, and it has an overall pleasant, non-offensive feel. It’s a flavor that most people can accept, which is great.
The taste is also a very standard energy drink flavor. There is a slight chemical scent, and a refreshing, classic energy drink flavor with a hint of tartness.
It’s not too sweet and doesn’t linger in your mouth too long, making it easy to drink. This is the kind of flavor that works for most people.
Both the taste and aroma aren’t overpowering, so you can enjoy it refreshingly in one go with the 250ml can. Surprisingly, it’s quite good even at room temperature.
When you add ice, the tartness becomes more refreshing, and the chemical feel is more noticeable. Personally, I think it’s an easy-to-drink flavor with no off-putting aftertaste, regardless of the temperature.
Energy Ingredients of Juggler Energy
Contains 80mg of caffeine and 300mg of arginine. It has the same ingredient ratio as popular energy drinks like Red Bull, so you can safely enjoy it.
Design of Juggler Energy
The can is packed with Juggler elements. It’s a bit cluttered, but it’s fairly well-organized. The overall balance is good, and it’s lively and vibrant.
The product is a highly complete merchandise item, and it’s easily recognizable as an energy drink. It looks quite nice overall.
The first edition, Go-Go Energy was sold for about three years, and the second edition, Juggler Energy, has already been on sale for nearly two years. It was expected to be a short-lived, one-off product, but it seems to have had a surprisingly long run. It might be interesting to make it a series with slight changes in flavor and packaging.
Correction on "Released in 2018" Information Online
By the way, many online articles about the 2021 Juggler Energy release state that it’s the “second edition released in 2018,” but this is actually incorrect. The second edition was released in 2014.
This shows the evolution of the Juggler energy drink. From the 2014 release of Go-Go Energy, the name was changed to Go-Go! Energy, and then the second edition, Juggler Energy, was released in 2021.
The reason this misinformation is circulating is that, in the 2021 release's official page, it mentions that the “extremely popular Juggler Energy” was “renewed after about 3 years” (quoted as is), which led people to mistakenly assume that the second edition was released in 2018.
The correct timeline is that the first edition, released by West Marketing Japan in 2014, was discontinued around 2018. Afterward, the rights became available and the second edition was released by the current pachinko-related goods company, Daiko (confirmed with the manufacturer).
