Red Power Energy Drink
ASEED's Red Power Energy Drink, spotted in a vending machine. With its bold "300mg Arginine" claim and the red-and-silver can design, it looks like a successor to Boost Up Energy Drink.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of Red Power Energy Drink
Opening the can releases a sweet, classic energy drink aroma. Just as expected from its appearance, this seems to be a traditional energy drink flavor.
Taking a sip, I find a sweet, mildly tangy classic energy drink flavor, reminiscent of Red Bull. However, Red Power has a smoother acidity, making it easier to drink. The taste is almost identical to its predecessor, Boost Up!
Given the name "Red Power," I initially expected a spicy kick with chili or other strong spices, but that wasn’t the case. Instead, it delivers a smooth and enjoyable traditional energy drink flavor. Despite its powerful-sounding name, the taste isn’t particularly intense—just a well-balanced, easy-to-drink energy drink that should appeal to a wide audience.
Has it been improved from Boost Up? The only notable change in Red Power is a slight increase in carbohydrates, while the other ingredients remain nearly identical. Since the taste is essentially the same, fans of Boost Up can continue enjoying this drink under the ASEED brand.
Energy Ingredients of Red Power Energy Drink
Caffeine is included, but like its predecessor, the exact amount isn’t listed. The drink contains 300mg of arginine, with no other particularly distinctive energy ingredients.
Design of Red Power Energy Drink
The combination of red, orange, and mirrored silver brings to mind the original Raizin. The name "Red Power" might suggest a spicy energy drink, but in reality, it delivers a standard classic flavor—just like Boost Up.
Without the Japanese text "エナジードリンク レッドパワー," the design might have felt more cohesive. While the English branding looks sharp, the addition of katakana makes it feel somewhat outdated. It might have looked better without it.
