This is the energy drink "Strong Charge Energy Drink" sold at Seims. The manufacturer is Tominaga Foods, and there’s no further information available, but it might be an order product from Fuji Yakuhin, sold at Seims and its affiliated drugstores.

When I first saw it in the store, I thought it was just another new private brand (PB) energy drink. However, after trying it, I was pleasantly surprised. It tastes genuinely good and has a unique flavor that I personally really like. If there’s a Seims nearby, I’d definitely want to add this to my repeat list. Let’s dive into the detailed review.

Upon opening, a sweet and tangy aroma of grape and pomegranate, along with the fragrant scent of mangosteen and white grape, fills the air. I had assumed from the can design that it would be a classic flavor, so I was surprised by this fruity scent. The liquid itself is slightly brown, resembling the color of typical classic flavors. Now, let me take a sip.

As I take a sip, I taste a rich, mellow grape-like tartness and sweetness, with a refreshing scent reminiscent of mangosteen. It’s a grape-flavored drink overall. The aftertaste has a pleasant bitterness that fades, offering a satisfying experience of changing flavors and aromas.

There’s no artificial chemical taste. Instead, it feels like they’ve successfully recreated the sweetness, tartness, and bitterness of grape and mixed them harmoniously.

From cold with ice to room temperature, the acidity and richness can feel like a pomegranate flavor, while as it approaches room temperature, the sweetness and umami of grape and white grape become more pronounced. It’s even better than I imagined, and I don’t think I can complain at all.

With a product name like "Strong Charge," this flavor is almost a waste. It might be seen as just another cheap, classic flavor, but the quality of the drink itself is really high. I wish I had tried it sooner. I had no expectations based on the appearance, so I let it sit for about a year and a half before finally trying it Σ(´∀｀；).

The can has a mysterious look.

Given this design, one might expect a cheap, classic flavor or a chemical-tasting one, but in reality, it’s a flavorful fruit mix flavor.

Since the flavor is so excellent, it’s a bit of a shame that the can design, which you see before drinking it, gives off a slightly cheap vibe. In a way, this just emphasizes how good the taste is compared to the appearance.

Energy drinks are different from regular juices, as they are often considered image products, so the ideal packaging design is surprisingly tricky. As a result, most end up with a design that is somewhat tacky and typical for an energy drink. In the case of STRONG CHARGE, since the flavor is not a classic one, it would have been nice if the design reflected the contents better.
