The "Umi Energy Drink" is an energy drink based on the popular pachinko game *Umi Monogatari*.

Previously, a 190ml canned energy drink inspired by *Umi Monogatari* was released, but this new "Umi Energy Drink" is a completely different product in terms of licensing.

Upon opening, it gives off the familiar classic energy drink aroma. Well, considering it's a merchandise-based drink, that makes sense. But when poured into a glass, it reveals an incredibly beautiful turquoise blue. The crystal-clear marine color is stunning! It perfectly matches the can design and product image.

The taste is a light, sweet-and-sour classic energy drink flavor. A subtle chemical-like note spreads through the palate, making it an unmistakable energy drink. It tastes very similar to Energy Bomber. In fact, the contents might be the same. Both are manufactured by Housaku Beverage, and aside from the coloring, their ingredients are identical.

The aroma is well-balanced—not overly sweet or overpowering. The taste is not too heavy, doesn't linger excessively, and has no strong quirks, making it a universally enjoyable drink.

Some might say it lacks distinctiveness, but I personally appreciate how it's well-balanced and free of any extreme or polarizing flavors. Even fans of *Umi Monogatari* who don’t usually drink energy drinks can enjoy it naturally, which I consider a strong point.

Design of Umi Energy Drink

The design is quite impressive, featuring shades of ocean blue, splashes of water, and smooth curves that evoke waves and currents. Everything is beautifully arranged.

The font size and color of "UMI ENERGY DRINK," along with the black outline, are well-balanced and visually appealing. Even with the Japanese text "海エナジードリンク" placed below, it maintains a cohesive look without feeling out of place. It doesn’t just work as a pachinko-themed item—it stands on its own as a solid energy drink design.

At the bottom right, there's what appears to be the copyright logo for the *SANYO Umi Monogatari* series. Overall, the design feels complete, with no awkward gaps or misplaced elements, making it visually satisfying. It has a fun, casual feel without trying too hard, and I also appreciate the absence of any cringeworthy energy drink poetry.

Whenever Taiko produces an energy drink as part of pachinko-related merchandise, the design quality seems to improve significantly. They must have some really skilled designers working on these.
