ZORUS ENERGY DRINK
This energy drink was discovered in Cambodia. It appears to be produced by a Thai manufacturer for export across Southeast Asia. In Cambodia, it was sold at a slightly higher price compared to other local energy drinks.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of ZORUS ENERGY DRINK
When poured into a glass, it has a cola-like color, and the rich, dense fruity aroma mixed with the smell of a classic flavor creates an almost unidentifiable impression. It might be easier to imagine if you think of the first time you try Dr. Pepper.
When I take a sip, I can taste a sweet and sour plum and pomegranate-like fruit flavor with a subtle medicinal undertone. The rich aroma makes it quite satisfying.
The chemical flavor isn't too strong, but there’s also a bit of bitterness, giving it an energy drink or nutritional drink-like feel. The intensity of the rich fragrance seems to enhance this vibe.
The closest flavor might be the 2016 Red Bull Winter Edition Plum Cinnamon. The dense fruitiness is similar, but ZORUS has a more pronounced energy drink taste with a bit of harshness.
It’s not the overly sweet Southeast Asian style, and right from the first sip, I can feel the kind of addictive flavor. I think it's pretty well done. It tastes even better when served with ice, enhancing its refreshing quality.
Energy Ingredients of ZORUS ENERGY DRINK
Contains 50mg of caffeine, 1000mg of taurine, 1000mg of Kaempferia parviflora, and 20mg of honey.
Kaempferia parviflora is a plant native to Thailand and is said to help with increasing sexual desire, reducing fatigue, and promoting restful sleep. It’s a fairly rare ingredient, and I haven't seen it in energy drinks before. Southeast Asian energy drinks tend to include ingredients aimed at boosting sexual desire.
Design of ZORUS ENERGY DRINK
The design features a combination of blue and white, with an anime-style character resembling a Tyrannosaurus Rex. While it’s not exactly a cool design, it seems to have been sold for quite some time with this design.
Although it's made by a Thai manufacturer, based on the official website, it seems that it's only available in Cambodia at the moment...
I haven't seen it in any of the countries I've visited so far. It’s supposed to be exported to several Southeast Asian countries, but the actual situation is unclear.
On the back, there are icons for the ingredients Kaempferia parviflora, honey, and vitamin B12. The color here is changed to a red background.
The tab is of the "all removed" type, which is still common in Southeast Asia. When I see this, it takes me back to the Showa era in Japan. Canned drinks back then had this type of tab.
