high blackcurrant energy
The blackcurrant flavor from the low-cost private label energy drink series, high energy, sold at TEDi in Germany. It’s one of those budget energy drink series that seems to appear and disappear repeatedly, but I believe both its design and taste are excellent. It’s a mystery why this one wasn't continued.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Freshly Squeezed Fruit, Rich Cassis Flavor
When poured into a glass, the dark purple liquid and the rich, ripe fruit aroma of blueberry, cassis, and pomegranate fill the air, building anticipation.
Upon taking a sip, the tangy and slightly astringent taste of freshly squeezed cassis emerges, with a rich and realistic flavor. There's no unnecessary sweetness, and the taste is so authentic, it feels like eating the fruit itself, which makes it hard to believe this is a 50-cent drink. The cassis and berry mix tastes even more genuine than some organic products that cost over 300 yen.
The aftertaste doesn’t linger, leaving a pleasant, sweet-and-sour sensation reminiscent of eating grapes. It’s puzzling that such a high-quality flavor, created for a supermarket PB product, hasn’t gained much attention. It’s a hidden gem, virtually unknown online.
Energy Ingredients in high blackcurrant energy
Contains 80mg of caffeine and taurine. It also includes blackcurrant juice, though the amount is unclear. If it’s just 1% or 2%, that would be surprising, as it feels like there’s a lot more. The flavor is that good and real.
Design of high blackcurrant energy
The beautiful and fantastical design features thread-like purple and blue against a black can, which stands out. It doesn’t feel cheap, with a simple yet sophisticated look, but you can buy it for just 50 yen.
Looking at the design alone, it’s reminiscent of the old 28 BLACK design, and it’s hard to believe this is a PB product that costs just 50 yen. The taste and design were both outstanding, and I wish they’d expanded the color variations and turned it into a series. It’s a shame.
