In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Sour-Sweet Guava & Berry Juice
When poured into a glass, the aroma is a sweet and sour cranberry-like scent, so I thought it might be a berry-flavored drink. But when I looked at the can, I was surprised to find it was a guava product. Does this scent belong to guava?
When you take a sip, you can definitely taste the typical guava's refreshing, sour-sweet flavor, but at the same time, there’s also a berry-like acidity and aroma. In terms of flavor balance, guava slightly dominates, but the overall impression is like a fruit mix.
The refreshing fruit taste is wonderful. The high energy series consistently delivers a real, natural flavor that doesn’t get too sugary, allowing you to enjoy the fruit’s inherent richness. The quality is outstanding, and it's hard to believe it costs only 50 yen (^_^;).
high guave energy’s Energy Ingredients
Contains 80mg of caffeine and taurine. In addition to the energy ingredients, the drink is flavored with guava and white grape.
high guave energy’s Design
The design is distinctive with a simple and mystical look, featuring thread-like color droplets on a black can. High energy is an energy drink series that I personally really like, with a design and taste that make it hard to believe it’s a 50 yen private label product.
Since it's a supermarket private label, there’s little information online, making it a drink known only to those in the know. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued. I believe it had the potential to be a series and could have continued to be sold. It's a shame.
