In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of FRS ORANGE
When I open the can, a rich orange scent fills the air. It’s so strong that I can’t wait to drink it! ((o(´∀`)o))
There’s no orange juice in it, but the fresh scent of oranges is unmistakable.
The color is FRS's unique yellow, which is the same as other FRS drinks. However, with this orange flavor, the color and scent match perfectly, and the sediment even looks like orange juice, so I can enjoy it visually this time. (For reference, see FRS Grape, which is yellow despite being grape-flavored.)
When I drink it, it feels like a lightly diluted orange juice. Despite the sediment, it’s surprisingly not overpowering. The light orange flavor is hard to imagine with the color and intensity (;´∀`)
Even though the color and sediment are quite rich, the lightness is somewhat unexpected, but still, compared to the low-calorie version of FRS, it’s much more satisfying.
That said, it’s not like the orange juice-style flavors from other energy drinks; rather, it has the distinct, light taste of FRS with a touch of sweetness and flavor. Unfortunately, this is something you’d only understand if you try FRS itself (´・ω・`).
Energy Ingredients of FRS ORANGE
The FRS energy blend of 48mg caffeine, 325mg quercetin, and 85mg catechins is the same as in other FRS drinks.
The difference is in the 19g of sugar and stevia. Just adding sugar makes a huge difference in taste, and it really shows how powerful sugar can be (u_u*). On the other hand, it’s clear how difficult it is to make a delicious sugar-free energy drink.
FRS's Main Products Are Definitely the Best in Taste
This is true for most energy drink brands: when comparing the original to sugar-free or low-calorie versions, the original usually tastes better. FRS is especially true to this.
FRS focuses more on “ingredients and nutrients” than taste, so the low-calorie versions might not be as focused on flavor or appearance.
The regular version of FRS is so much better in terms of taste, aroma, and flavor compared to the low-calorie version, so if you’re going to try FRS, I definitely recommend the regular version!
It would also be fun to compare it with the low-calorie version!
