In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of G FUEL SONIC PEACH RINGS
Opening the can, a sweet and vibrant peach aroma spreads. Peach is a flavor that’s easy to reproduce deliciously even in ZeroZero, so expectations are high for this one.
When I take a sip, the sweet peach flavor is noticeable, followed by an oddly artificial taste in the aftertaste.
According to G FUEL, it’s a flavor meant to replicate peach gummies, and indeed, the taste and scent of peach don’t evolve with fruity notes or depth—it's a simple peach flavor. It’s not a cheap taste, but at the same time, it's not a product aiming for the richness of real fruit.
The slightly lingering, artificial, and peculiar aftertaste may have been added with the intention of mimicking gummies or perhaps comes from artificial sweeteners. For those sensitive to taste and scent, this unique aftertaste might feel a bit off.
Energy Ingredients of G FUEL SONIC PEACH RINGS
Contains 300mg of caffeine, tyrosine, and theanine. It also includes trace amounts of green tea, turmeric, broccoli, and kale. The combination of caffeine, tyrosine, and theanine seems to target the brain.
Design of G FUEL SONIC PEACH RINGS
A limited-edition design with blue and yellow colors, featuring a large Sonic printed on the side of the can. This SONIC PEACH RINGS is one of the designs directly printed onto the can.
G FUEL products often use a simple plastic wrap for their labels, and for SONIC PEACH RINGS, some versions are wrapped, too. The direct print on the can isn’t common, but it appears occasionally.
G FUEL has been releasing new flavors and collaborations non-stop, making it hard to keep track of what they've launched and when. It’s not uncommon for them to team up with major game developers and celebrities, and their collaborations, like with Sonic the Hedgehog, are always interesting and diverse.
Just like SONIC PEACH RINGS, these collaboration products are often limited edition, appearing and disappearing in waves. If you’re traveling to the U.S., try visiting multiple convenience stores to find different available flavors. It’s always fun to discover new flavors with each store visit.
