In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of GORILLA MIND LYCHEE BOMB
When I open the can, a sweet and floral lychee fragrance mixed with a raspberry-like tartness bursts out.
Upon tasting, a sweet and tangy raspberry flavor with a clear, crisp mouthfeel spreads across my palate, followed by a refreshing aftertaste with floral lychee notes that linger in my nose.
Unlike the sweet lychee flavors commonly available in Japan, this one has a distinctive tartness reminiscent of raspberries.
In terms of lychee flavor, Japanese releases tend to have a richer taste, but considering that GORILLA MIND LYCHEE BOMB is sugar-free, it performs quite well in comparison.
Among the GORILLA MIND series released so far, I feel that the fragrance of this product is particularly well-crafted, successfully recreating the delicate aroma and flavor of lychee.
Energy Ingredients of GORILLA MIND LYCHEE BOMB
The energy ingredients include 200mg of caffeine, 1000mg of acetyl L-tyrosine for cognitive function enhancement, 400mg of Alpha-GPC (a precursor of acetylcholine for brain function improvement), 200mg of uridine monophosphate for stress reduction, 100mg of L-theanine for stress relief, 15mg of saffron extract for stress and anxiety relief, and 200mcg of fulvic acid for cognitive improvement.
Looking at the energy ingredients, it's clear that this formulation is primarily aimed at enhancing brain function, cognitive performance, and stabilizing mental stress and anxiety.
Personally, I am interested in "smart ingredients" and often research them, so it’s clear to me that this brand is more focused on brain-related benefits rather than physical performance improvement, which can be inferred from the ingredients and overall brand image.
Design of GORILLA MIND LYCHEE BOMB
The design features a red film wrap that evokes the image of lychee, with the gorilla logo and a depiction of the lychee bomb flavor concept.
The presence of both the gorilla's face and a brain image is a nod to the product's focus on brain function, as indicated by the energy ingredients. Unlike typical energy drinks, this one targets cognitive enhancement through nootropic properties.
On the back, you'll find icons representing the benefits and a grid summarizing the nootropic ingredients. While the design is neat and easy to read, I couldn’t help but notice that it closely resembles the design of GHOST ENERGY.
