This is a review of GORILLA MIND ORANGE RUSH, one of the four flavors launched in April 2023 alongside the brand's debut.

Upon opening, a cheap artificial orange juice aroma mixed with a medicinal powder-like smell wafts out. This powdery scent, occasionally present in certain flavorings, is something I personally find quite off-putting. Let’s give it a try.

When tasted, a refreshing tangy orange soda flavor spreads across the palate, quickly followed by the overwhelming powdery smell. To put it positively, it resembles the intensified scent of Japanese fizzy candies; negatively, it’s akin to the fragrance of floor cleaners used in American restaurants.

The flavor composition feels like 40% orange and 60% peculiar odor. It’s quite pungent. I had to pause my nasal breathing to analyze the flavor properly and continue the review.

The aftertaste leaves a lingering sourness, with a restrained sweetness from the orange. As expected, there’s no sense of real orange pulp. From the taste and aroma, it’s evident that the aim wasn’t to recreate the sweetness or richness of actual oranges but rather to craft a purely synthetic orange flavor.

Personally, I found the scent so unpleasant that I couldn’t finish drinking it.

The drink contains 200 mg of caffeine, 1000 mg of acetyl-tyrosine for cognitive function improvement, 400 mg of Alpha-GPC as a precursor to acetylcholine for enhanced brain performance, 200 mg of uridine for stress reduction, 100 mg of theanine for anti-stress effects, 15 mg of saffron extract to relieve high stress and anxiety, and 200 mcg of Huperzine A to boost brain function.

Looking at the energy ingredients, the formulation is clearly aimed at improving brain and cognitive functions as well as stabilizing mental states.

As someone interested in smart ingredients and often researching this field, I can tell this formulation focuses more on mental performance rather than physical enhancement, creating a distinct brand image.

It’s so similar that if someone claimed both brands were made by the same manufacturer under different names, it wouldn’t be surprising. From GHOST ENERGY’s perspective, this might not sit well with them.
