The new flavor of KIIVA released in 2019, KIIVA PUNCH. The 350ml can of KIIVA PUNCH I am reviewing today is a new design can, updated in 2020 as part of the overall KIIVA series redesign, following its initial release in 2019.

This flavor raised expectations for the KIIVA series, hoping for even more new and exciting flavors to come.

I thought it would be cloudy with less than 10% fruit juice, but it's a clear type.

When I take a sip, the sweetness of the apple, followed by the sourness and fragrance of the orange, spread in that order. It's a refreshing, clear orange apple juice-like experience. By avoiding any artificial chemical flavors, it’s surprisingly delicious.

For those who expect a certain bitterness or intense flavor from energy drinks, thinking that’s part of the energy drink experience, this might feel like a regular juice and could be underwhelming. Especially since the product is called "KIIVA PUNCH," it might have been better if the flavor had packed more of a punch, matching the product name and packaging.

That said, the absence of those intense flavors means, conversely, it’s just "really good, fruity mix flavor" so rest assured (^_^;)

Personally, I’m not a fan of the Japanese tendency to add unnecessary chemical taste or bitterness to otherwise good fruit flavors to force that "energy drink taste." So, I’m glad KIIVA PUNCH didn’t fall into that trap (*´艸｀*)

By the way, when you add ice and chill it, the overall flavor turns into a refreshing orange tropical mix. Personally, I like drinking it with ice.

I tend to drink energy drinks in the morning, and especially when I add ice, the refreshing sensation increases, the taste becomes lighter and gentler, and it feels just right to soothe my dry body in the morning. Plus, the 160mg of caffeine might help with a refreshing boost.

Energy Ingredients of KIIVA PUNCH

Contains 160mg of caffeine, 185mg of arginine, and 140mg of guarana. The fruit juice content is less than 10%, including orange and apple.

With the caffeine content being relatively high, it's best not to overdo it with other energy drinks or caffeinated beverages like coffee.

Design of KIIVA PUNCH

KIIVA PUNCH incorporates the Tommy Rim design from the 2018 release of KIIVA VODKA.

The design by Tommy Rim is stunning. I first got to know Tommy Rim through KIIVA, and his works are incredible, so be sure to check them out.

In the 2020 KIIVA refresh, all products were given the Tommy Rim design, and the appearance became sharper compared to before. Personally, I really like this change.

It’s exciting to think about colorful new flavors and limited-edition releases in the future of this series (*´ｪ`*)

When KIIVA PUNCH first released in 2019, the previous design with orange gradients was nice, too.

Then, with the impactful Tommy Rim design, it feels like it stands out more compared to other brands. The size was reduced from 500ml to 350ml, which might actually be the perfect amount for most people. 500ml can be too much for some to finish.

When KIIVA PUNCH first came out in 2019, it wasn’t available in any of the stores I visited, so it would be great if this design could be widely available in the future. I think it’ll definitely stand out more than the big-name brands in stores.
