Upon opening, the scent of a classic, easily recognizable flavor spreads. The liquid itself is a clear yellow, typical of energy drinks. Now, let's take a sip.

As I take a sip, the refreshing sweetness of a classic flavor fills my mouth, with a light texture and a taste reminiscent of a sugar-free type, with a mild acidity. It's easy to compare it to a sugar-free Red Bull, which has a similar level of acidity.

It has a sugar-free mouthfeel, with the taste of artificial sweeteners, and checking the ingredients, I see it has about a quarter of the sugar content of a typical energy drink. For 500ml, it contains 13g of sugar. Considering the burden of sugar on the body, I’m happy with the lower amount.

Both the sweetness and acidity are light, leaving little aftertaste, making it easy to drink. This is a perfect flavor for those who enjoy a classic, refreshing energy drink flavor.

Moreover, it’s available for as low as 100 yen for the 500ml size, making it an excellent option for those who have regularly bought affordable, classic energy drinks. It’s also cheaper than other brands on Amazon. Amazon has it at a lower price than other energy drinks.

C4 and N6

When N6 was released in 2022, I was surprised by the design and product name.

It closely resembled the design and colors of the SMART ENERGY series from the American supplement brand C4 ENERGY DRINK, which launched four flavors in April 2020.

The gradient colors are reversed, and while the alphabet and numbers of the product names differ, and the number of diagonal lines changes from four to six, the overall design concept is just a reworked version of the C4 ENERGY design.

In the vertical "SMART ENERGY" section of C4 ENERGY, N6 has written "ACTIVE ENERGY," which was quite a surprise.

The color section at the top of the can and the silver parts, along with the way the silver section diagonally spreads, are also nearly identical.

The blacked-out part under the N6 logo, and the wording there, has a similar nuance, and "PERFORMANCE FUEL" remains the same.

Looking at the back, C4 includes the brand name and ingredient overview, and N6 also has icons placed above the border, making the design feel quite similar. The top positions for "Brain Booster" and "Performance Fuel" were also the same.

Given that the placement of each element is so perfectly similar to C4, it doesn’t seem like a mere coincidence.

After drinking energy drinks from all over the world for over 20 years, I've come across products where I thought, "They're clearly inspired by such-and-such," but I’ve never seen a product where the design was so closely matched. This was the most shocking experience I’ve had in all my years of drinking energy drinks.
