KONG STRONG WILD POWER KAMIKAZE
KONG STRONG Kamikaze, part of the private label energy drink series from German supermarket chain Lidl. Seeing this flavor name immediately reminded me of another private label energy drink, "Siti EnerG."
Siti EnerG was also a Lidl private label product, but around 2018, it was rebranded as KONG STRONG. The Mojito and Cuba Libre flavors, released simultaneously, have continued to be sold under the KONG STRONG series in Czechia and Slovakia, making them long-selling products. Kamikaze, in particular, has a bold and unique flavor, yet Lidl has kept it on shelves for over a decade—quite an interesting choice.
Now, let’s dive into the review.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of KONG STRONG WILD POWER KAMIKAZE
Upon opening the can, a citrusy aroma mixed with a refreshing menthol scent fills the air. The deep blue color, matching the can design, makes quite an impact. Now, let's take a sip.
As soon as it touches the tongue, a sweet and tangy lime-like flavor spreads, accompanied by a strong menthol cooling sensation.
The three flavors released alongside KAMIKAZE are inspired by cocktails, but while the authenticity of the cocktail flavors varies, KAMIKAZE stands out the most in terms of capturing a cocktail-like feel, thanks to its menthol kick and fruity base.
The other two flavors lean more toward standard juice flavors, but KAMIKAZE has a unique, almost alcoholic drinking experience.
The KAMIKAZE flavor from Siti EnerG, before the rebranding to KONG STRONG, had aged over the years, leading to some deterioration in taste. I'm glad I got to try a fresh version this time.
Energy Ingredients of KONG STRONG WILD POWER KAMIKAZE
Contains 75mg of caffeine and 1,000mg of taurine—standard energy ingredient levels for a 250ml can.
Design of KONG STRONG WILD POWER KAMIKAZE
The vivid blue can features half of a gorilla’s face alongside the flavor name, following the signature KONG STRONG design.
The right half prominently displays the KONG STRONG brand name.
While the design itself isn’t particularly new, the set of three cocktail-inspired flavors looks vibrant and visually appealing when placed together.
These three flavors stand out from the rest of the KONG STRONG lineup with their vivid base colors. They are available at Lidl stores in Czechia and Slovakia, so be sure to check them out if you’re traveling there.
