KONG STRONG WILD POWER Kokos Blaubeere
This is a review of the KONG STRONG WILD POWER Kokos Blaubeere, a private label energy drink from the German supermarket chain LIDL.
KONG STRONG Kokos Blaubeere is a coconut berry flavor released in Germany in 2020. It can be considered a super private label version of Red Bull's coconut berry flavor, which was released as the 2018 Summer Edition limited to the summer and is currently sold as the White Edition.
I bought this during my trip to Austria in July 2024.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of KONG STRONG WILD POWER Kokos Blaubeere
Upon opening the can, a sweet coconut aroma spreads. While the blueberry scent is also detectable behind the coconut, 99% of the aroma is dominated by the sweet coconut. The liquid itself is a bright, glowing light blue, which is quite surprising as it mimics the color associated with Red Bull. Now, let's take a sip.
When I taste it, the flavor resembles a sweet and sour berry taste, almost like passion fruit, with a strong coconut aroma enveloping it. The coconut does not bring any sweetness to the flavor, and instead, the taste and aroma are clearly separated.
Additionally, there is an artificial and chemical aftertaste that lingers, creating a distinct chemical sensation that differs slightly from Red Bull's White Edition.
For those who enjoy the unhealthy energy drink taste, the mix of coconut aroma and chemical flavor might be appealing.
When KONG STRONG Kokos Blaubeere was first released in Germany, it caused a buzz as a "cheaper clone of Red Bull."
In reality, the coconut flavoring is stronger, and the chemical sensation is more pronounced, so it's not an exact alternative, but it still offers a similar taste at a lower price, which might make it a worthy choice.
Energy Components of KONG STRONG WILD POWER Kokos Blaubeere
Contains 80mg of caffeine and 1000mg of taurine. No other energy components are included.
Design of KONG STRONG WILD POWER Kokos Blaubeere
The combination of white and silver may be inspired by the white coconut flesh or perhaps follows the white theme of Red Bull's White Edition.
The blue "Kokos Blaubeere" lettering also uses the same color as Red Bull.
Not only the appearance but also the color, taste, and flavor name all seem to be designed with Red Bull in mind, making it remarkably similar—so much so that it could easily be called a Red Bull clone.
The tab has a black design with a gorilla etched on it. I hadn't seen this on any other recent KONG STRONG products I purchased.
I'm not sure when this gorilla tab was introduced, but I got my first one with this KONG STRONG WILD POWER Kokos Blaubeere.
