One of the classic flavors from the UK’s major beverage brand, Lucozade, is Lucozade ENERGY ORANGE.

Sold in the UK as well as in parts of Asia, I’m reviewing the Lucozade ENERGY ORANGE I purchased in London in 2017.

Refreshing and Subtle Orange Flavor

When you open the can, a refreshing and juicy orange scent bursts out. The scent is very realistic, so the taste seems promising.

When you take a sip, a refreshing and subtle orange juice with a light taste spreads across your palate. The scent was so strong, but the flavor is surprisingly light. So this is the kind of flavor it has.

The flavor itself is light and refreshing, but the recreation of fresh orange pulp using flavoring is quite high, leaving behind a pleasant, fresh orange aftertaste that doesn’t linger.

However, if you’re looking for a rich taste in your energy drinks, you might find this lacking.

Personally, I feel that it has value not as an energy drink but as a refreshing drink for daily hydration.

Contains 6% orange juice. The flavor is not a thick, juice-based taste, which might be hard to believe, but this is likely what contributes to the fresh pulp sensation that stays on the palate.

So why is the plastic bottle used in the logo design?

Actually, the main product in the Lucozade energy drink series is the slim-shaped plastic bottle featured in the design on this can.

The can type, which I’m reviewing here, is only produced for a limited number of flavors. This is the main product of the Lucozade series, sold in plastic bottles.

The can type is also available in parts of Asia, but in the UK, many flavors have been sold in plastic bottles for years.

...That said, using the silhouette of a plastic bottle on the can design is somewhat innovative, or maybe odd. I’m guessing it’s because most people in the UK associate Lucozade with plastic bottles.
