The original of Lucozade’s energy drink series, Lucozade ENERGY ORIGINAL, from the UK’s major beverage brand, Lucozade.

Lucozade is sold in the UK as well as in parts of Asia. This is a review of the Lucozade ENERGY ORIGINAL that I purchased in London in 2017.

Subdued Sweetness with a Citrusy Fruit Flavor

The liquid is a bright orange, and there's a citrusy fruit scent with an oddly musty odor. I wonder if it's just this can... this is a bit off-putting.

Upon drinking, there’s a citrusy flavor with a moderate tanginess and a subtle sweetness. It’s refreshing and doesn’t leave much aftertaste. It’s not a rich, sweet-and-sour citrus, but rather watery with no heaviness from sugar.

The musty odor is quite strong... If you block the smell and drink it, you can taste a mix of grapefruit, blood orange, and a hint of lime.

It would be interesting to try the main pet bottle product to check the scent.

Contains 30mg of caffeine. No other significant energy ingredients are included. The energy components seem a bit lacking for an energy drink.

Interestingly, the can version I’m reviewing here is quite rare even in the UK, and not all flavors are available in cans. Still, it’s amusing to see the bottle silhouette used in the design.
