EX STRONG FITNESS ENERGY PEACH
Released on March 11, 2024, this is the long-awaited new product after about two years. It’s the fitness-focused energy drink, EX STRONG FITNESS ENERGY PEACH, from the Matsukiyo Energy Drink series.
The FITNESS ENERGY series was created to meet the growing demand for fitness-related energy drinks, inspired by the rapidly expanding fitness energy drink market in the U.S. It seems that the appearance of this product was influenced by the CELSIUS series, which has frequently been mentioned by energy drink enthusiasts in recent years.
Now, let’s dive into the detailed review.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of Matsukiyo Energy Drink EX STRONG FITNESS ENERGY PEACH
Upon opening, a sweet peach fragrance bursts out. It’s not the scent of juicy peach flesh, but rather a typical zero-sugar peach flavor.
The color of the contents appears similar to a fruit punch. It seems that, unlike previous Matsukiyo series products where the can color and the contents color differed, the FITNESS ENERGY series has opted for a match here. Personally, I believe that the flavor experience is enhanced when the appearance, product name, color of the contents, and flavor all match, so I feel this is an improvement. Now, let's give it a try.
Upon tasting, a light peach sweetness and soft acidity, reminiscent of peach flesh, spread across the palate. However, there is a slight aftertaste of artificial sweeteners that might not be to everyone’s liking. This aftertaste could be a point of contention.
It’s not a rich, peach-flesh type that coats the tongue, but rather a light and refreshing zero-sugar flavor.
The sweetness is subtle, and the flavor doesn’t linger too long, making it easy to drink before or during a workout. However, the faint bitterness in the aftertaste is a little distracting…
Energy Components of Matsukiyo Energy Drink EX STRONG FITNESS ENERGY PEACH
Contains 100mg of caffeine, 140mg of Garcinia, 30mg of valine, 60mg of leucine, 30mg of isoleucine, 500mg of arginine, 500mg of citrulline, and 100mg of carnitine.
Looking at the energy components, it’s clear that the drink is packed with a wide variety of amino acids tailored for fitness.
The drink also contains 1% fruit juice, which includes peach juice.
Design of Matsukiyo Energy Drink EX STRONG FITNESS ENERGY PEACH
The can features a clean, white base with a simple design that highlights black and pink (the flavor color), creating a strong contrast. At the bottom of the can, the words "Sports Drink" are printed in small text.
The pink color of the contents evokes a sense of freshness and moisture, presenting a different vibe from previous EX STRONG series products.
While the Matsukiyo Energy Drink series has traditionally leaned towards novelty drinks, this time, the design seems to be inspired by the "American fitness energy drinks" trend, much like the clean white design of CELSIUS.
The design feels well-suited for a fitness drink, leaving a good impression.
Although the can does not feature the term "Energy Drink" on the front, the back of the can above the ingredient list has it written in English.
Interestingly, the ingredients list for Garcinia and Guarana is also written in English. Why is this in English for a product sold in Japan?
