Comparing Old and New Miracle Energy V

Since the original Miracle Energy V existed, I decided to compare it with the latest revamped version.

When comparing the two, the base taste and aroma are the same. Both have a sweet-tart and chemical flavor, but since the older version is 7 years old, the sweetness has developed a roasted flavor due to aging. The differences in taste weren’t obvious enough for a proper comparison.

The original Miracle Energy V didn’t list caffeine content, but it started at 22mg and gradually increased to 112.5mg, finally reaching 160mg in 2020! Despite the changes in caffeine content, the flavor and aroma have remained consistent, with improvements made to both the ingredients and packaging. If you love classic flavors, it’s clear that you’ll enjoy both the old and new versions.

At just 100 yen, the low-cost Miracle Energy V, with its name sounding almost like a gimmick, may have been considered a cheap knockoff of an energy drink. However, with its taste and ingredients, it’s now undoubtedly one of Japan’s top-tier energy drinks.

The blazing sun? This has been the main image of Miracle Energy V for a long time. The old versions featured a black sun, but now it’s burning bright red.

One notable difference is that there’s a lot more text than before. The product name, furigana, main ingredients, and even the catchphrase are all packed in tightly.

Since the cans are arranged vertically, it would be helpful to have the main ingredients clearly displayed so they are visible when stocked. For a 250ml can with 160mg of caffeine at just 100 yen, it’s a great deal.
