Freeway up act MOJITO
The mojito flavor from the energy drink brand "Freeway up," which is Lidl's private brand in Europe. Since I really like mojitos, I’m looking forward to this one.

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of Freeway up act MOJITO
When opening the can, a refreshing mint and lime fragrance fills the air. The color is a green tea-like green.
You can clearly see large green solid particles even when viewing the glass from the side.
Looking from the bottom makes it even more obvious.
There are solid particles, about the size of tea leaves, and it's a bit mysterious why they have clumped together so much... Let me take a sip.
Upon tasting, a strong mint flavor spreads, and I can enjoy a slightly bitter lime flavor, giving a nice bitter lime experience. I’m happy that it doesn’t taste sweet and really brings out the mojito characteristics.
The mint fragrance lingers even after drinking, and the aftertaste is much more satisfying than expected. There have been several mojito-flavored energy drinks before, but none had such a strong mint flavor and a well-defined bitter citrus taste as Freeway up act MOJITO. It seems to contain orange peel and lemon peel, which is surprising for a private-brand energy drink.
Energy Ingredients of Freeway up act MOJITO
It contains 70mg of caffeine. This is a standard amount of caffeine. There are no other notable energy ingredients.
Design of Freeway up act MOJITO
The design features a snake scale-like pattern. The Freeway up series has adopted this snake pattern design with the flavor colors.
Since it's a private-brand energy drink, the design is so simple that there’s really no need to elaborate on it. The red "Freeway up" logo is featured, which is the logo for Lidl's private-brand products. This logo can be seen on other items sold at Lidl, and it stands out when you visit the store.
Even though it’s a low-cost private-brand energy drink, the tab is a green one that matches the can’s color.
European private-brand energy drinks often use color-matching tabs like this, and it adds a bit of that energy drink vibe.
