In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of JAVA MONSTER FARMER'S OATS
Upon opening, a sweet caramel-like aroma wafts through the air. It really reminds me of the sweet vibe you often get from North American coffee…
As I pour it into a glass, I notice not just the sweet scent, but also a distinct, roasted, spice-like aroma. Is this the scent of oat milk?
When I take a sip, it has a surprisingly light texture with a subtle sweetness, leaving behind a lingering coffee bitterness. It really holds its ground as a coffee drink. This is a pleasant surprise.
North American coffee is often way too sweet, to the point that it's hard to even call it coffee. But Farmers Oats is something that even someone like me, who struggles with overly sweet North American coffee, can drink easily.
However, the unique, roasted aroma from the oat milk tends to linger after you drink it, so if you're not a fan of plant-based milks, not just oat milk, you may struggle to take a second sip.
By the way, this is what the oats look like, and they're also depicted on the Farmers Oats can.
Oats, which are used to make the nutritious oat milk, have been gaining attention in Western countries due to growing health consciousness and environmental concerns, making them a popular alternative to cow's milk.
I was hoping I would get used to the scent of oat milk by the time I finished the can... but the oat milk presence didn't disappear and continued throughout. The flavor might be a hit or miss depending on your taste.
Energy Ingredients of JAVA MONSTER FARMER'S OATS
This product contains 200mg of caffeine, which is more than regular Monster Energy in the same size. It also includes taurine, carnitine, ginseng, and other energy blends.
I was surprised to find that it also contains a relatively high amount of vitamins compared to other Monster Energy products. The lower calcium content compared to other JAVA products is likely due to the use of oat milk.
Design of JAVA MONSTER FARMER'S OATS
The design is understated, evoking the feel of an old-fashioned American farm. Recently, many Monster Energy cans have featured designs that use the entire can as a canvas.
It gives a glimpse into farm life. I really like the way this scene is captured.
The product name "FARMER'S OATS" displayed as a hanging sign adds a nice touch.
Is it a smile or a mischievous grin? It's a little scary (^-^;)
By the way, it's labeled as "ENERGY COFFEE," not "ENERGY DRINK."
I think "FARMER'S OATS" is coffee enough to justify this label.
Gold top and black tab. It blends naturally with the colors of the Farmers Oats can.
Although the design stands out with bold colors, it doesn't feel out of place on a coffee shelf. In fact, it blends right in.
It definitely stands out in stores, but it's surprisingly fitting for a coffee product.
Vegan-Friendly Coffee Energy Drink
Farmers Oats stands out from the regular JAVA series by using oat milk, made from oats instead of dairy milk, offering a delicious coffee experience that even vegans can enjoy with peace of mind.
Before the release, Monster Energy hosted a launch event, collaborating with vegan restaurants and promoting the product as vegan-friendly. Just so you know, vegans avoid eggs, dairy, and honey in their diet.
Thanks to the release event for Farmers Oats, I discovered meals I wouldn't have expected from vegan dishes. It's exciting to experience a new world that focuses not just on energy drinks but also on creative collaborations.
This burger likely has vegan cheese on it, and it looks absolutely delicious.
Energy drinks often have a strong reputation for being unhealthy or even dangerous, so the combination with a new category is a fascinating concept.
Starting in 2020, Monster Energy is set to release more new products, not just in the U.S., but worldwide. I'm looking forward to more innovative products like Farmers Oats! ((o(´∀`)o))
