JUICE MONSTER RIPPER
M-80, which had long been produced as a juice-infused product within the Monster Energy line, was turned into a series called "JUICE MONSTER" in 2014.
This time, the product name was changed from M-80 to "RIPPER," becoming "JUICE MONSTER RIPPER." The "RIPPER" name is the European version of M-80, and the product names, which were previously different in North America and Europe, have now been unified under the name "RIPPER."

In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of JUICE MONSTER RIPPER
As I reviewed before, the American M-80 was absolutely delicious, but with this renewal, the juice content of the JUICE MONSTER RIPPER has decreased to 20%. Monster Energy’s juice-infused energy drinks have been gradually reducing their juice content over the years.
When opened, the same tropical fruit’s sweet and refreshing aroma bursts out as before. The scent is almost unchanged, the pure smell of fruit (●´ω`●).
Pouring it into a glass, the RIPPER appears in a bright yellow with a slight cloudiness. It seems the cloudiness has decreased a bit, but from the fragrance and the shine, I wouldn’t even notice the difference if it were still called M-80.
The taste is a mix of sweet pineapple, mango, papaya, and guava, with a slight tanginess and a rich, fragrant aroma that comes through the nose.
The rich tropical fruit flavor is perfectly balanced with refreshing carbonation, and the aftertaste leaves a pleasant tropical fruit flavor and aroma lingering. It’s not particularly refreshing and light, but since it’s not overly rich and heavy, it’s definitely a good choice for hydrating during the summer heat.
Even with only 20% juice, the cloudiness is beautiful. It’s truly stunning.
When drinking RIPPER, be sure to chill it well and pour it into a glass. You can confirm the meaning of RIPPER, which concentrates the fruit’s deliciousness, through this cloudiness, and it will make the experience even more delightful visually ((o(´∀`)o)).
Energy Ingredients of JUICE MONSTER RIPPER
It contains 152mg of caffeine, taurine, guarana, ginseng, and other Monster Energy blends.
The juice content is 20%, consisting of apple, guava, passion fruit, pineapple, orange, and lemon, with sugar, artificial sweeteners, and citric acid balancing the flavor.
The basic sweetness and tanginess are likely flavored with sugar and fragrances, but with the added juice, the freshness and deliciousness have elevated this energy drink to a whole new level.
I believe this is the key difference between Monster Energy’s high-juice content series and other series. While the world is moving towards zero-calorie drinks, when it comes to taste, the high-juice content series wins. The JUICE MONSTER series, in particular, offers a satisfying and full-bodied taste.
Design of JUICE MONSTER RIPPER
The can is entirely a rich yellow, and the Monster Energy logo and juice logo are presented in a flat, simple style, but the can has a textured finish similar to the Ultra series, which feels great to the touch. Additionally, there are patterns on the side of the can with varying shades. This kind of pattern might remind you of earlier designs, but it could suit the tropical, natural vibe of the flavor.
I liked the old M-80 design, as it was very Monster Energy-like, but I also think the new JUICE MONSTER RIPPER design isn’t bad at all.
Above all, the texture is quite addictive (*´艸`*).
The pull tab is yellow, just like the RIPPER itself. The Monster logo print is a bit “off”? It looks quite faded. A more subtle gold tab like this fits the RIPPER really well. Overall, it’s almost perfect!
