In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.
Flavor of MONSTER ENERGY ASSAULT
The red and camouflage design gives off a rather gruesome, blood-like red color when poured. It's so dark that I couldn't help but say "oh my..." when I poured it. It has a somewhat cherry cola vibe due to its dark red appearance.
The flavor is extremely strong in cherry. It could be called a cherry flavor. The sweetness from the sugar combines with it, creating a taste that's very close to fruit punch.
Personally, I prefer fruit punch flavors with both strong sweetness and acidity, and no lingering aftertaste. I think Assault is a very good Monster Energy drink for a change of pace. When I drink it occasionally, it reminds me of something like "Delicious Chaos" (*´ェ`*).
Energy Ingredients of MONSTER ENERGY ASSAULT
Basically, it contains the same energy blend as regular Monster Energy. Since this can is from an older type, it lists ingredients like taurine (2000mg) and ginseng (400mg).
Caffeine is the same as other drinks at 160mg.
It also lists 2500mg of energy blend ingredients like carnitine and guarana.
Personally, I really like the ingredient list on these older cans.
Possible Old Assault Cans
This can is from the previous generation, manufactured in 2007 (as of 2014).
It feels quite old due to the energy supplement label and the wear on the can...
A friend jokingly said, "This generation of Assault is the best," which made me laugh.
The taste hasn’t degraded at all and was just like I remember from when I first drank it.
However, as I write this, I remember that when I opened the can, there was a red jelly-like spill from the pull tab, and it had a lot of dust and black specks on it.
Although I don’t think this can is from 2007, it's definitely old.
