Released in 2021, MONSTER ENERGY DRAGON ICED TEA GREEN TEA is a spin-off from the non-carbonated tea energy drink line, the Rehab series, which launched with four flavors simultaneously.

In the U.S., it rarely appeared on store shelves, and unless you were closely following the trends in energy drinks, most people were unaware of this series, which unfortunately led to its discontinuation.

Upon opening the can, a refreshing tea leaf aroma gently fills the air. While it’s labeled as "Green Tea" flavor, it has a distinct North American green tea style, which is different from Japanese green tea.

When you take a sip, you’ll taste a mildly sweet North American green tea flavor. Since it’s not the green tea most Japanese people imagine, it’s important to let go of that expectation and think of it more as a sweet tea flavor in the North American style (^_^;)

There’s no astringency or richness typical of Japanese green tea, but instead, a smooth and subtle sweetness takes center stage, with a slight powdery tea leaf aftertaste. It contains about half the sugar of regular sodas, with the same amount as other fruity tea flavors.

It’s not a real green tea taste, but if you approach it as a refreshing beverage in the North American style, you’ll enjoy the clear, crisp, and refreshing flavor similar to other tea energy drinks.

Personally, the green tea leaf flavor came across as an artificial powdery taste, which I found a bit off-putting. I thought the other fruity flavors released at the same time were richer and more enjoyable.

It contains 160mg of caffeine, taurine, ginseng, carnitine, and inositol.

The key difference from the other three flavors is the addition of green tea leaves, which is why you get that powdery green tea taste.

The Monster Energy logo is in brown, resembling tea leaves, and "DRAGON ICED TEA" and "GREEN TEA" are written in a Chinese-style font, giving it an overall cringe-worthy impression.

This large-size DRAGON ICED TEA barely made it to most stores, and the main way to get it was "buying it on Amazon," which is quite laughable.

In the U.S., there are times when you can’t find it in stores and end up having to buy it on Amazon, but unfortunately, Amazon in the U.S. has poor packaging and shipping, often resulting in damaged goods. The DRAGON ICED TEA GREEN TEA I received was dented and tilted, which was disappointing.
