The taste is exactly as the color suggests, a grape-flavored energy punch. It has a deep purple color, but the taste is refreshing, and there’s no lingering sugary juice aftertaste.

Overall, the balance of sweetness and sourness is neither too strong nor too weak, and it’s a flavor that can be widely accepted. I love Mad Dog so much that I’d buy a case and drink it daily. It has a stable, pleasant taste without any sharp edges, and 473ml wasn’t enough for me!

However, when you think about the overall flavor of Mad Dog, it’s not too thin, nor too strong, and the aroma isn’t overpowering. It’s not too assertive, and on the contrary, you might think, “With this packaging, the flavor is this ordinary?” That’s the stronger impression I got.

Some people might feel that this flavor is "delicious but too ordinary and lacks distinctiveness" among Monster Energy drinks. It might not be ideal for those who seek a more intense experience.

I wondered why it’s called DUB Edition, and then I found out that Monster is the main sponsor of the DUB tour across the U.S.

Luxury cars, hip-hop, and energy drinks go well together, so it makes sense that Monster Energy is the main sponsor for the DUB tour. The shiny, glossy cans really stand out (ΦωΦ).

Hope for More Flavor Expansions in the Series

As an energy drink enthusiast, I do enjoy some of Monster’s more intense flavors, but I also love Rockstar’s juice-like balance. With the stable flavor of Mad Dog and the DUB collaboration, I really hope they release more flavors, similar to how the Rehab series came out ((o(´∀｀)o)).
