In 2001, while living in the United States, I encountered energy drinks through the dance scene and was deeply impressed. After returning to Japan, I found that energy drinks were considered novelty beverages, so I established a comprehensive website in 2013 to share the true appeal of energy drinks. As an energy drink enthusiast, I began drinking them seriously again, collecting over 7,000 varieties of energy drinks from various countries. I am also active as a critic and expert, receiving media interviews.

Flavor of MONSTER ENERGY IMPORT Light

Opening the can releases the characteristic sweet scent of Monster Energy. I really wish I could resist wanting to drink it just from the smell (^_^;)

MONSTER ENERGY IMPORT Light
When poured into a glass, it has a bright yellow color typical of classic energy drinks, but the "Monster Energy correction" makes it look beautiful. The design of the can and brand development really do matter!

Taking a sip, the rich fragrance pairs with a surprisingly heavy taste for a low-sugar version. You can immediately feel the Mogu-Mogu texture.

The sweetness is strong but doesn’t linger too long in the mouth, and it’s lighter than the original. Additionally, there’s a faint tanginess, and fruity notes, like banana, come through. The way the flavors and aromas spread is exceptional.

The fact that the Monster Energy feel isn’t compromised is wonderful.

Ab Zero also achieves a remarkable flavor despite being sugar-free, but it's surprising how maintaining this level of Monster Energy flavor without fully eliminating the sugar is possible. Sometimes, it's good to try drinks that reduce sugar ((o(´∀`)o))

Energy Ingredients of MONSTER ENERGY IMPORT Light

The Monster Energy blend is nearly identical, containing caffeine, taurine, carnitine, guarana, and ginseng.

It’s not sugar-free or calorie-free, but the sugar content is significantly reduced. With the Mogu-Mogu texture, aroma, reduced sugar, and artificial sweeteners, it’s impressive how Monster Energy flavor can remain at such a high quality!

Although it’s been discontinued, it’s still easily drinkable

MONSTER ENERGY IMPORT Light
The Import Light is from an older generation, around 2015, and the can still has the "Energy Supplement" label. Many of the current ones available were likely produced in mid-to-late 2013. Realistically, the oldest ones probably date back to 2012. While you might notice slight degradation if you find one now (as of 2015), it’s still drinkable!

Fortunately, the can I drank was from December 2013, so it was still very enjoyable (u_u*). However, unlike pull-tab cans, the wingslide cap may not keep the contents as well preserved. It’s better to keep in mind that it’s not the same as a pull-tab.

MONSTER ENERGY IMPORT Light
The wingslide seal has a blue logo for Import Light. It’s nice when the colors match! (´∀`*) In the US, I’ve seen gray, green, and blue seals. Ideally, it would be great if the seal matched the product color, just like with pull-tabs. It somehow adds to the enjoyment of drinking!

By the way, since the scent is top-tier Monster Energy level, even though it has a wingslide cap, it’s best not to bring it on a train or anywhere else where it could be detected (^_^;)
