The Japanese version of Monster Energy Khaos has finally become 30% fruit juice. The country of production has also been changed from the USA to Japan.
This review includes a comparison with the old 50% Khaos.

Although the fruit juice content has decreased to 30%, the characteristic cloudy, rich color of Khaos remains unchanged, and there is hardly any difference in the aroma.

When I drank it, I was surprised to find that it had clearly turned into a regular orange juice compared to the 50% Khaos ( ﾟдﾟ)ﾊｯ! Not only has the fruit juice content decreased, but the unique aftertaste of Khaos has also been significantly softened, and the sweetness has decreased while the acidity is more pronounced.

The rich flavor of orange, mandarin, and other mixed fruit juices is still there, with a fresh orange taste. It's now easier to drink, and the 30% Khaos is delicious (*´ｪ`*).

Some might say it has deteriorated, but with the increased acidity, it has become refreshing (although still rich), giving it a completely different impression. I'll write about the comparison between the 50% and 30% later, but I think the 30% Khaos is definitely a flavor that will be more widely accepted.

Energy Ingredients of Monster Energy Khaos 30%

The energy ingredients remain unchanged with 142mg of caffeine, 444mg of arginine, 444mg of D-ribose, 302mg of ginseng (a slight increase), and 11mg of carnitine.
The fruit juice has been reduced to 30%, with the addition of tangerine alongside apple, orange, peach, pineapple, and grape.

There are slight differences in carbohydrates, sodium, and other components, but these are within the margin of error and not something to be concerned about.
The changes in flavor are likely adjusted by altering the fruit juice, sugar, artificial sweeteners, flavorings, and citric acid, but since no details are provided, it's hard to say for sure (ｕ_ｕ*).

Comparison between 50% Khaos and 30% Khaos

Even when placed side by side, there doesn't seem to be much change, right? Honestly, just by looking at this, you wouldn't be able to tell which one is 50% and which one is 30%.

As expected, the unique "sediment" of Khaos settles down, likely due to the fruit juice content. The one on the left is 30%, and the one on the right is 50%. You can clearly see that the 50% Khaos has significantly more sediment. This must be due to the 20% difference in fruit juice content, but it’s a bit too much sediment, don’t you think? (；´∀｀)

However, the reduction in fruit juice isn’t the only reason for the change in flavor. I believe the taste and aroma are adjusted with other ingredients. The 30% Khaos still maintains the distinct Khaos flavor.

Visually, the main difference is that the Monster logo on the 30% Khaos is smaller, making it easy to recognize. There are also other changes to the design, in line with the global update to all Monster Energy products in 2015, but I’ll skip those details here.

In convenience stores and elsewhere, many people are picking up the new version of Khaos as a new product, and if it gets the same treatment as the original or Ab Zero, more people will likely fall in love with the deliciousness of Khaos ((o(´∀｀)o))
